- You can evaluate and select the best tools (framework, library, practices) for the problems at hand and ensure standards in your team
- You are able to break down complex scenarios, simplify processes and create simple solutions
- While being able to provide robust, scalable and elegant solutions, you also know when it’s time to be pragmatic and get things done
- As a Senior Engineer, you bring all the skills and experience to dig deep into a problem, gather all the data you need from multiple sources and investigate from different angles to understand and fix root causes rather than just the symptoms
- You are in a continuous learning process and comfortable to learn new languages
- Deep knowledge and experience (5-8 years) in building modern, responsive/adaptive web applications end-to-end with React.JS or similarly combined with solid expertise in all related standards and technologies (ES6, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST APIs, GraphQL, etc.)
- Experience with Java is a bonus
- Ideally, experience with React Native and the apps development process
- Experience with defining and delivering scalable frontend architectures (e.g. micro frontends, design systems, and storybook)
- Professional work experience in Cloud environments is a plus, ideally Google Cloud
- Deeply familiar with concepts like DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Clean Code, TDD, Pair Programming, Code Review best practices

- We are looking for a Senior FullStack Engineer with strong programming skills, fresh ideas and a passion for solving user problems to build a truly outstanding product experience for travellers from all over the world
- You’ll work in a cross-functional team with other highly versatile developers. The team in Berlin is small but growing
- We work across all Omio’s front-ends and backend and we are building foundations for the exceptional and most reliable checkout and payment experience aligning with the brand strategy of offering “a unique place to easily book your journeys based on what matters to you”
- Our Technologies:
- React and React-Native on TypeScript, Redux, Webpack, Jest, Node.js, GraphQL & REST APIs, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker

- We have end-to-end responsibility from design, over creation up to running it in production

Our take
The internet has made traveling extremely easy in comparison to the past, with information on most public transport methods and routes being available online. Despite this abundance of information, complex trips often require research and fare comparison across many different websites, a process that calls for a more integrated solution.
Omio provides a universal travel comparison tool for trains, buses, flights, ferries, and airport transfers across over 1,000 worldwide travel partners. Whilst there are many existing comparison platforms for specific transport methods such as Skyscanner for flights and TheTrainLine for buses, Omio has taken a unique approach by providing information on all major public transport methods within an integrated app. Furthermore, the company’s inspiration magazine The Window Seat and mobile application contribute towards an end-to-end travel assistant that stands out from competitors.
In 2024, the company raised debt funding to revive temporarily put-on hold global expansion activities, including through strategic mergers and acquisitions. While it has re-approached earlier expansion plans, the company is doing so with greater discipline, with plans to expand into Southeast Asia in 2025.
