Who you are
- You're an experienced delivery leader who thrives in complex, multi-team environments. You have deep technical understanding but your strength is orchestrating delivery across boundaries. You're data-driven, focused on metrics that matter (deployment frequency, lead time, reliability), and you know that great delivery comes from removing blockers, not micromanaging
- Stays calm when multiple workstreams all have urgent issues simultaneously
- Can translate technical complexity into clear business options
- Mentors teams to improve themselves, rather than just telling them what to do
- Is passionate about fintech and helping customers achieve financial freedom
- Extensive background managing delivery across multiple teams and/or products, ideally in FinTech and/or Trading platforms
- Experience coordinating complex dependencies across teams and organisations
- Proven track record of delivering projects from inception to completion
- Understanding of agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices
- Experience with metrics-driven improvement (DORA metrics, delivery metrics, team velocity)
- Background in scaling organisations
- Experience with deployment frequency and lead time improvements
- Strong technical background with ability to understand architectural systems and engineering concepts
- Able to hold technical conversations with architects and engineers about trade-offs
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, and databases (at least conceptual understanding)
- Understanding of testing, deployment, and CI/CD concepts
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to engage effectively across organisational levels (engineers to executives)
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Ability to translate high-level strategy into tangible action plans
What the job involves
- We’re commencing work on an important new initiative which represents one of IG's most exciting strategic bets, a new product arm with real momentum and a clear market opportunity. We're looking for an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to join us on a 6-month FTC to help us seize it
- This is a focused, high-impact engagement. You'll be embedded in the UK Client Tech team with a clear mission: drive the delivery of our product, remove the blockers that slow teams down, and help us move from opportunity to market. You'll act as the interface between engineering, product, and stakeholders, keeping the team aligned, dependencies managed, and delivery on track during a critical phase of the product's growth
- This isn't a caretaker role. We need someone who can hit the ground running, quickly earn the trust of engineers and senior leaders alike, and make a tangible difference to our ability to ship in the time they're here
- Own end-to-end delivery of the product, keeping teams aligned, dependencies managed, and blockers cleared at pace
- Be the connective tissue between engineering, product, and stakeholders, translating technical complexity into clear options and decisions
- Manage and optimise workflow across the team, providing leadership with visibility on resourcing, planning, and progress
- Proactively identify risks and issues that could impact delivery, and work with teams to resolve them before they become problems
- Mentor and coach the team on agile practices and continuous improvement, using data (DORA metrics, lead time, deployment frequency) to drive better outcomes
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, product, compliance, and the business, providing regular, clear delivery updates
- Drive a culture of fast, iterative shipping — where teams learn quickly and improve continuously

Our take
Founded in 1974 by Stuart Wheeler as a UK-based spread betting company for gold, IG Group, abbreviated from Investors Gold Index, was initially set up to allow people to speculate and trade on the price change of gold without owning physical gold. And in the year 2000, it was listed on the London Stock Exchange and its gradual evolution into the world of fintech began.
By 2011, the company had played a part in numerous international buyouts before narrowing its focus down to financial wagers. During the latter half of that decade, IG shut down its binary options trading platform and focused instead on building an investment portfolio with partner BlackRock Investments, all whilst maintaining its Forex and CFD trading processes. Since then, it has become a fast-paced market leader in the investment space.
In recent years, IG Group has developed major platforms for various trading actions and has grown profit and revenue significantly. Alongside this it has acquired a number of companies, including tastytrade and Freetrade, and launched its own crypto product, making it the first UK-listed company to launch crypto trading to retail investors. This further proves how much of a staple IG Group is in the world of financial trading.
