Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role
- Exhaustive understanding of GAAP, accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite), and financial reporting standards
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage complex financial operations and lead process improvements
- Experience in Medtech, Healthtech or digital health
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable working cross-functionally, throughout the organization’s vertical reporting structure, and in a remote team environment
- Passion for health, wellness, and making a difference in people’s lives
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our Finance team and take ownership of the company’s financial operations
- The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting function, financial reporting, compliance, banking, cash management, financial audit, and internal controls. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax filings and regulatory requirements
- Establish and maintain internal control policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure financial integrity and mitigate risk
- Coordinate and manage annual audits and interface with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants
- Implement systems and tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of financial operations
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business decision-making and growth
- Support financial modeling and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives, including new program launches, partnerships, and cost management
- Develop and mentor a growing finance team, as needed

Calibrate is changing that by offering a combination of cutting-edge medication and physiological training to help people make lasting changes to their weight.
The medications used by Calibrate, including GLP-1 drugs, have shown strong results in clinical trials. When combined with sustainable lifestyle changes, its program helps patients achieve lasting weight loss. However, while these medications show promise, long-term safety and effectiveness still require further study, especially since continued use is necessary to prevent weight regain.
Despite these concerns, Calibrate's approach has helped over 20,000 people, and many have sustained health improvements well beyond the first year. It has faced some challenges, including negative press and a round of layoffs, but with funding and positive attention around next-gen weight loss drugs, the company continues to be a leader in the field.
