Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of overall experience in the Data Analytics or Data modeling
- Proficient Technical Skill - You are fluent in writing SQL and Python to query and manipulate datasets, answer questions, and drive end-to-end complete analysis that help accelerate the business. You have a history of creating effective visualizations to clearly drive your point across to various stakeholders using visualization software, like Looker, Tableau or Mode
- Strong Business Acumen – You think deeply about business strategy and profitability, and have experience translating the business ins and outs into data driven problems. You can proactively identify and investigate potential areas of opportunity with independence
- Engaged Analytical Thought Partner – You are excited about partnering with coworkers to figure out how analytics can solve problems. You are skilled in translating business questions into data analysis visions to execute. You are great at communicating in order to both fully understand someone’s business needs and to communicate potential limitations of your approach
- Tactical Problem Solver – You have experience boiling down medium and large scope data problems into measurable and achievable blocks of work. You have the foresight to identify and dismantle potential roadblocks ahead of time. Furthermore, you’re pragmatic: you can identify and work on the most important problems first and you want to find the highest-impact lowest cost solution
- Clear and concise communicator – You know how to communicate complex concepts effectively and concisely and are comfortable presenting and debating in large groups. We’re looking for strong data advocates who can plug into cross-functional working teams seamlessly and drive cultural pushes for the organization to become more data driven

What the job involves
- As the Senior Data Analyst for Business Insights you will help build and drive company-wide reporting
- You will be responsible for building, designing, and reporting KPIs spanning functions from retail distribution (e.g. fulfillment rates) to painting the entire picture of our Omni channel performance
- You will flex your analytical skills by diving into data sets in search of more insights. We need someone with both a strong business acumen, excellent storytelling skills, and a robust technical toolkit
- You’ll work with key decision-makers throughout the company, and also share your insights and recommendations with all levels of the business
- Synthesizing data on a regular basis to provide leadership with portfolio-level insights on business health, breaking down the silos that exist today within business units
- Plan, design, and implement reports that highlight key performance indicators of new or rapidly iterating processes
- You will develop an understanding of our P&L, and how our data translates to reporting, to allow you to improve our business with data
- Leverage our BI tool Looker to build, maintain, and own dashboards that empower the business to interpret and act quickly. (e.g. Track inventory issues across retailers and build actionable alerting.)
- Build reporting from start to finish. Hands-on!
- Explore new data and define and build business cases (e.g. retail store distribution performance across brands)
- Use our cloud ETL tool Ascend.io or Fivetran to bring in new data sources
- Sling Python, Pyspark and SQL to transform and model the data
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to bring reporting to life
- Work closely with Retail, Strategy, and Supply Chain to identify and solve data pain points
- Gain a strong understanding of their data problems and use our Analytics tool kit to find a solution (What data do we need, how can we get it and how can we automate reporting?)
- Driving deep analysis of the whats and whys of key drivers to surface hypotheses for action
- You will report into the Senior Manager, Business Insights
- Within the broader Data org, you'll work most closely with the other data analysts and analytics engineers on the team
- Within the larger H’ org, you’ll work closely with our Inc leadership team, Retail team, Brand leadership teams, and Finance / Operational Planning teams
Our take
Harry's shot onto the scene in 2012 with the simple idea of great razors at fair prices. And at a time when buying blades felt like taking out a small loan, Harry's built a direct-to-consumer brand that made men's shaving feel modern and affordable. So, what started as an online upstart quickly grew into a serious player, landinow on the shelves of major retailers and one of the best known names in men's grooming.
The road hasn't been entirely smooth as in 2020, a planned billion-dollar sales to Edgewell Personal Care (the owner of brands like Schnik) was blocked by the Federal Trade Commission on competition grounds. At the time, this looks like a major setback, however, it have Harry's the room to keep building on its own terms. Instead of folding into a legacy giant, the company doubled down on growth, raised fresh capital and continued to expand its reach in retail and product lines.
Now, the company isn't just a small startup taking on the razor establishment. It has broadened its grooming range well beyond blade, built a loyal customer base, and proved it can compete both online and in-store. What began as a challenger brand has evolved into a mainstay of the men's personal care aisle.
