Who you are
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Excellent knowledge of computer architecture & microarchitecture
- Software development experience with proficiency in C/C++ & scripting
- Experience working with SoC simulators - functional or timing accurate (Eg. GEM5)
Desirable
- Prior experience with OS/firmware internals
- Experience with SystemC/TLM
- Experience working with PCIE based subsystems
What the job involves
- Waymo interns work alongside leaders in the industry on projects that deliver significant impact to the company
- Work with hardware/software architects to develop simulator and architecture models for the next generation of Waymo compute accelerators
- Understand hardware/software interaction and ensure that the simulation models can accurately run Waymo software
- Architect methodologies for multiple simulation models to communicate and form a full system simulator
- Develop processes for measuring pre/post silicon performance & improve debug/observability
