Who you are
- Experience developing Java and Spring Boot applications in cloud-based microservice environments
- Strong understanding of REST principles and best practices
- Proficiency with databases (we use MongoDB) and experience with queuing/messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as JUnit, Testcontainers, or WireMock
- You enjoy collaborating in cross-functional teams and believe in sharing knowledge to drive success
- You have a passion for solving complex technical problems and are always seeking ways to improve existing systems
- You are self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept to deployment
What the job involves
- As a Java Backend Engineer, you will join our cross-functional Integrations team, collaborating closely with frontend engineers, backend engineers, QAs, and a product manager
- You will help shape the future of our integrations—a platform that connects Phrase TMS with external systems and services. You will take an active role in ensuring our systems operate seamlessly in production environments
- Develop and maintain Java backend services that integrate with third-party systems

- You’ll meet some of the main stakeholders and team members. Your talent acquisition partner will guide you all the way through, keep you updated, tell you who you’re going to meet next, and where you’re standing
- Some things to consider:
- Our entire interview process is virtual. We work with Google Meet and Zoom
- We assess your skill set, but we’re also interested in seeing if your values and goals align with ours
- Once we know you and you know us, it’s time for all of us to make a decision
- We aim to make hiring decisions within a couple of days. This can be delayed if we have several people interviewing for the same role, but we’ll keep you updated. We hope for you to do the same for us
