Role
Who you are
- This role is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, eager to grow in a fast-moving SaaS environment, and committed to high-quality financial execution
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally gained in a SaaS, tech, or international business environment with multiple legal entities and currencies
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles, general ledger processes, and the mechanics of revenue recognition in a subscription business (deferred revenue, MRR/ARR, multi-year contracts)
- Hands-on experience with month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and meeting close deadlines
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing operations, and intercompany accounting — including handling renewals and customer-facing invoice topics
- Working knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT / Umsatzsteuer, including cross-border and EU reverse charge scenarios, is a plus
- Experience supporting audit preparation and collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite is required
- Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with modern finance tools and a willingness to adopt new systems and automation approaches
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality in all financial outputs
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative team player who communicates clearly and proactively flags issues or blockers
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, international environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and operational efficiency
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills are nice to have
What the job involves
- As an Accountant, you will be an integral part of Spryker's global operational finance team, contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our day-to-day accounting operations
- You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and external partners, supporting the full accounting cycle across our international entities and helping to build the scalable finance backbone Spryker needs as it grows
- Reporting to the Director of Operational Finance, you will be a reliable and detail-driven contributor to Spryker’s core accounting function—supporting day-to-day accounting operations, monthly close activities, reconciliations, and compliance tasks across our global entities
- While this role includes ownership and coordination of accounts receivable and billing topics, we are especially looking for someone who can contribute across a broader accounting scope, including accounts payable and general ledger activities
- This role is on a part-time arrangement (minimum 30 hours per week)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple entities
- Process and review accounts receivable, billing, and collections activities, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
- Support accounts payable processes, including invoice handling, coding, and coordination of approvals and payments
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in NetSuite, ensuring data integrity across subledgers and the general ledger
- Support intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination entries
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in line with applicable accounting standards
- Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors and tax advisors during audit and year-end close cycles
- Collaborate with internal teams including FP&A, Legal, and P&C to resolve queries and support cross-functional finance needs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls, and workflows
- Support compliance with internal controls and accounting policies across all entities
