Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will possess development experience with APIs and frameworks, strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for research, innovation, and experimentation
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in Go (Golang) and a track record of delivering production systems (beyond small scripts/utilities)
- Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, with a strong understanding of HTTP concepts and best practices
- Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, applying automation to complex cloud environments
- Proficiency with development and version control tools (IDEs, Git, GitLab workflows including branching, merge requests, and pull requests)
- Familiarity with networking, security, and configuration management
- Experience working on and managing team-based open source projects
- The ability to learn quickly and independently, and gather information to understand complex features and environments
- Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaborative communication skills
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Desirable
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines
- An understanding of PKI and IAM protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML)
- Prior experience with Ping Identity or similar IAM products
What the job involves
- We are looking for a highly-motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Ping DevOps Integrations team that builds modern DevOps tools for our advanced identity platform
- These tools will be used by both our customers and by Ping Identity engineers to deploy and configure mission critical IAM (Identity & Access Management) services that power thousands of world-class organizations
- This role requires a developer capable of staying on top of the latest devops trends, learning and adapting as new frameworks grow in popularity
- The work is fast-paced and collaborative, involving a cross-functional team of product managers, software engineers, and architects across Ping Identity
- Design and build production-grade Go services and libraries that power Ping’s DevOps tooling, applying Go best practices
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to deploy and configure mission-critical IAM services, ensuring robust API design, security (API keys, OAuth/OIDC), and performance
- Participate in planning work and identify areas of improvement
- Maintain and grow existing projects based on market interest and customer feedback

PingIdentity is a platform, delivered through both cloud services and on-premises software, that is used to provide a comprehensive Identity and Access Management service. In today’s highly connected digital world, digital identity management services — the process of identifying and authenticating users on networks to access services — has become a key aspect of interacting on the internet.
The digital identity market is worth approximately $30 billion today but growing at upwards of 18.5% and potentially as big as $100 billion by 2024, according to the latest forecasts. Consequently, competition is heavy for PingIdentity, with some other strong players in the various branches of identity management including Okta, LastPass, and Duo Security. The merger between PingIdentity and ForgeRock went some way to consolidating a firm rooting in the industry for both companies.
The now combined, PingIdentity and Forgerock have successfully attracted considerable funding and serve hundreds of brands, including Morningstar, Vodafone, and GEICO as well as governments like Norway, Canada, and Belgium. Alongside this, both companies were acquired by the leading software investment firm, Thoma Bravo in 2022 before the merger. This acquisition offered a unique opportunity for PingIdentity to further grow and marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the combined company and its customers.
