What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist (CIS) to support and execute FACEIT’s social presence across CIS region and on CIS platforms such as Telegram and VK
- Reporting into the Senior Social Media Specialist, you’ll be responsible for being FACEIT’s ear to the ground for the region, deeply connected to the community, culture, and conversations shaping competitive gaming locally
- You’ll bring FACEIT’s voice to life in a way that feels native to the region, while feeding insights, trends, and ideas back into the global team
- While your core focus will be CIS channels, you will also support global channels with regional insight, content, and context — helping shape how FACEIT shows up for players across all touchpoints
- Own and execute social content across CIS platforms (Telegram, VK, etc.) and global channels, ensuring consistency and quality
- Act as FACEIT’s regional voice and listener, surfacing community sentiment, trends, and opportunities
- Localise global campaigns and narratives for CIS audiences in a culturally relevant way
- Contribute region-specific content ideas and storytelling formats that resonate with local players
- Build and nurture the CIS community through active engagement and conversation
- Plan and schedule content aligned with global priorities and regional needs
- Monitor performance and sentiment, sharing actionable insights with the wider team
- Collaborate with global social, product marketing, and creative teams to ensure alignment
- Support lightweight content creation (copy, briefs, simple assets) where needed
- Stay deeply connected to the CIS competitive gaming scene, especially Counter-Strike
Our take
In recent years, competitive gaming has become a professional spectator sport that draws huge online crowds. FACEIT is a platform that allows developers to run their own online tournaments; providing ranking charts, skill-based matchmaking and anti-cheat software to ensure that these events are as fair as any traditional sporting competition.
The esports market is projected to be worth about £7.5 billion globally by 2030, and FACEIT has attracted large scale investments as it continues to innovate in this market. Not all of its moves have panned out, for example its foray into crypto gaming, but many others have been well-received by developers.
FACEIT continues to release and support new gaming products for the ever-expanding sector, which shows no signs of slowing down. Despite this success, it has undergone a phase of restructuring recently which included staff layoffs. But the company says this marks the end of a phase of change, and that these decisions will position it better for long-term and sustainable growth
