Who you are

Extensive experience in web design and proven ability to create user-centric, visually appealing designs
Ability to quickly mock up designs to solve real user problems, and iterate based on feedback
Confidence to lead and maintain a consistent design language across a large platform. Practically speaking this means ownership of our design system and component library
Strong knowledge of HTML and SCSS/CSS. TypeScript/JavaScript competency is a plus, but not necessary
A keen problem-solving ability, and product improvement mindset. All our work stems from making the customer experience better
A collaborative mindset to guide the team in best practices and future direction
Excitement about reshaping the rental industry with innovative solutions

What the job involves

Solve real-world problems with creativity and advanced product knowledge
Turn solutions into intuitive, workable products that seem obvious once used by millions of people nationwide
Lead design discussions, set best practices, and mentor the team on UX and UI
Collaborate across teams to deeply understand user needs and deliver revolutionary solutions
Be responsible for dramatically iterating our current processes and designs
Influence company-wide decisions and have a say in what we build and how we build it

Since founding in 2012, OpenRent has been transforming the renting industry by connecting landlords with tenants online. Its platform empowers them to arrange lettings cheaply, quickly & efficiently, unlike many of the exploitative and expensive traditional letting agencies.

In comparison to more traditional letting business models, OpenRent primarily targets tenant matching and related add-on services, saving tenants time by filtering out unsuitable rentals. All document processing occurs online, resulting in a more streamlined system than traditional letting businesses.
