Who you are

  • You’ve previously managed a team and you’re excited to bring your expertise in building and running productive teams
  • You are naturally curious and are excited about learning, mastering and eventually improving our research processes
  • You are extremely organized and proactive, pay close attention to every detail within a process, and are always looking for ways to improve and streamline your and your team’s work
  • 5+ years of work experience, including 3+ years of people leadership experience with an early career team
  • Ability to assess and manage team members’ performance, as well as coach and train on best practices
  • Strong ability to proactively recognize procedural issues or inefficiencies, in order to resolve or escalate accordingly
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Experience with creating efficient workflows to disperse team tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • History of being a self-starter

What the job involves

  • We are hiring a Research Operations Manager in our New York City office
  • As a Research Operations Manager, you will manage and grow a team of researchers who use our tech platform to build impactful audiences on behalf of some of the country’s most prominent companies, trade associations, nonprofits and advocacy organizations, and scale the processes they use to do their jobs
  • In this role, you will be a critical member of research team leadership and ensure Applecart’s audiences are delivered efficiently and with the highest quality
  • This role will report to the Head of Research Operations
  • Manage a team of researchers, including managing performance, identifying development areas, and providing training opportunities for team members
  • Gain a deep understanding of our internal tech platform and architecture and ensure team knowledge as the platform evolves
  • Prioritize and direct daily activities and ensure efficient team operations to deliver client audiences on time

Our take

Applecart uses publicly available data, both online and offline, to create a map of real-world interpersonal relationships. Allowing clients to run more effective advertising and marketing campaigns by leveraging social influence, or word of mouth, which Applecart believes is the most powerful motivator.

Initially focused on political campaigns, Applecart worked to increase voter engagement and turnout. However, in recent years, it has expanded into commercial work, partnering with organizations such as Boeing and nonprofits like The Business Roundtable.

A key backer of Applecart is Ari Emanuel, CEO of Endeavor, a global entertainment and media agency that owns the UFC. While its unclear if the UFC is currently a client, Emanuel's involvement signals the high-profile clients Applecart is now attracting.
