Role
Who you are
- Degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience
- +5 years of experience as a full-stack developer with Go (backend) and React (frontend), or similar positions
- Proficiency in React, including state management (e.g., Redux, Context API) and component-based architecture
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software
- Methodology: Be proactive when participating in AGILE team rituals
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Passion for Technology: Genuine interest in learning and applying new technologies and approaches to solve complex problems
- Initiative and proactive collaboration when designing software
- Strong knowledge of architecture and design of Linux embedded systems (ARM-based micro PC)
What the job involves
- Solution design and architecture: Work with engineering teams and product managers to architect and design software solutions (functional and technical)
- Code development: Develop, and manage databases, applications, and responsive frontend interfaces using React
- Security and optimization: Develop secure and performance-oriented software
- Integrations: Design, develop, and maintain robust integrations with other systems and platforms using API Rest, SNMP, and other protocols following best practices. Explore integration with platforms for monitoring, data aggregation, and advanced analytics
- Frontend Development: Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces with React, ensuring seamless collaboration with UX/UI designers for an intuitive user experience
- Clean coding: Write software using best practices and clean code to ensure a high-quality software system
- Test focus: Write tests to ensure software resilience
- Code Review: Review your peers’ work as part of their design and development process
- Product-oriented cross-team collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to understand the product’s intricacies and ensure seamless integration between software, hardware, and embedded systems
- Hands-On Product interaction: Actively engage with the physical SmartPod system to gain a deep understanding of its operation, conduct testing, and identify areas for improvement or possible issues
- Product Backlog Participation: Actively participate in backlog refinement sessions, contributing your technical expertise and insights to shape feature development
- Documentation: Write and keep up to date the technical documentation of what has been delivered
- Production care: Monitor and maintain software in production
- Learn how embedded system works to maintain Yocto distributions with our product gateway

Our take
Developments in the AI sector have increased the strain on data centres and chips, generating more heat from their processes than ever before. Cooling methods using air and water are not keeping pace with the amount of energy needed to support AI. Submer is on a mission to build data centres and processing plants that are as sustainable as they are efficient.
Submer’s eco-friendly product for data centres and chip processing is built from a coolant of non-flammable, biodegradable and synthetic liquid that physically acts in the same way as water. The racks for servers are stored and operate from within a smart container which further lessens the heat produced by data centres. Submer’s range of products even allows for the coolant to be reused via a heat exchanger.
It’s an inspired solution for an increasingly pressing problem. Data centres are going nowhere, yet the vital need for greener energy solutions puts pressure on these industries. It’s unsurprising then that Submer has raised considerable funding that is being channelled into the expansion of its product. Server component manufacturers are even beginning to build their products to be compatible with Submer’s, indicating the eagerness with which the industry is welcoming the solution.
