Efforts to increase the efficiency of agriculture are a staple of European sustainability efforts, but Constellr digs deeper than other agriculture monitoring companies in that it aims to save costs on the technology used to monitor farming, reducing it by up to 97%.
Constellr uses thermal infrared microsatellites to monitor global land surface temperature (LST), analysing and diagnosing the right amount of water needed for optimum crop yields. Its savvy use of space technology could be a long-lasting and highly impactful solution, putting it in good standing.
The company has also attracted numerous investors. This is no surprise given that it has the potential to save up to 2 trillion euros in agricultural water wastage by the end of the 2020s - as much a moral motive as it is a financial one.
