Proven experience with C++ development for UNIX systems

What the job involves

We are on the hunt for a multifaceted C++ Software Engineer with a solid background in UNIX system development and a flair for Python
Design, develop, and maintain software for UNIX-based systems using C++ and integrate with NVIDIA DeepStream for AI-driven insights
Implement and optimize Python scripts to interface with C++ modules, ensuring smooth interoperability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Perform profiling on UNIX systems to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance
Debug and enhance system stability and reliability
Maintain thorough documentation on design, development, and profiling activities
Stay abreast of the latest trends in C++, Python, and AI technologies like DeepStream
Mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Our take

Health and safety in industrial, factory and warehouse environments has long been bemoaned for how it slows work processes down, and for how imperfect it is. It often takes accidents to happen (or be narrowly missed) for interventions to take place, and as a result, thousands of people a year are still killed in workplace accidents in the US alone.

Protex AI is out to make workplaces safer by turning CCTV cameras into AI-powered safety auditors. Its software plugs into an existing CCTV system and maps the actions of people, vehicles and other equipment. The system can automatically capture and report on risks – ultimately allowing H&S teams to make more data-informed decisions.

Since being founded in 2021, Protex AI’s forward thinking approach has seen it expand into locations across Ireland, the UK and the US, winning major customers such as Marks & Spencer and P&G. With significant funding at its back, the company continues to scale to bring AI-powered safety to more workplaces.
