Who you are
- 3+ years of experience shipping user-facing features or products as a full-stack developer
- Demonstrated strong fluency with React & Typescript
- Experience communicating and working across functions to proactively drive solutions

What the job involves
- At Figma we truly believe that design does not end in Figma or with your designer, it’s just one part
- Design encompass everything that goes into the product eventually shipped to your customers
- Whether that is the code you write to tie it all together, your CI/CD infrastructure that gives you confidence that your products work as expected, or the documentation written to keep everyone on the same page
- The developer tools pillar at Figma is responsible for the development lifecycle of this design process and the handoff between designers and developers
- Our goal is to enable frontend engineers to move (much) faster, spending less time on mundane tasks, and most importantly enable them to deliver the highest quality products to their end users
- In 2023, we launched Dev Mode, a suite of features that gives developers everything they need to navigate design files and transform designs into code
- With Dev Mode, designers and developers stay in sync, making sure important details aren’t lost in the handoff process
- The team partners with other product and engineering teams to ensure Figma continues to push the boundaries of collaboration between design and engineering
- Looking to the future, we have strive to go beyond design handoff, further accelerating front end development
- Build and evolve Dev Mode, Figma’s leading tool for dev/design collaboration
- Take part in building new 0→1 products within the developer tools space
- Collaborate with designers, PMs, and other engineers craft high quality products
- Be a mentor to, and be mentored by, exceptional peers across engineering, product & design
- Build strong personal connections with your teammates and help shape Figma’s culture

Figma is a web-based design platform that helps cross-functional teams of designers, project managers, and developers easily collaborate on product design projects. Its standout feature, Multiplayer mode, is like Google Docs for design, letting team members collaborate in real-time on project files that are hosted in the cloud.
Founded in 2012, Figma quickly established itself among its competitors in the sector and, in 2024, achieved a valuation of $12.5 billion after a large funding round backed by the likes of General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz. However, its recent focus on AI tools has had mixed results; Figma's Make Design tool, which generates apps using AI, was taken off the market soon after launch.
Nevertheless, thousands of industry-leading companies such as Airbnb, Dropbox, GitHub and Microsoft use Figma to scale their design efforts easily across distributed teams. A 2025 IPO is on the cards too, and Figma has the customer base and market trust to pull it off.
