Who you are

- You are an "active" student (enrolled at a university or similar) and are available for an internship of 4-6 months, ideally starting before October 01, 2024
- You have good communication skills in both German and English
- You impress us with your high level of analytical understanding
- You are interested in the world of digital marketing and ideally already have some experience in ads, email marketing or organic social media
- You are able to work independently, remotely and autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal skills are one of your strengths
- You are already familiar with the usual Office tools and know how to use simple Excel spreadsheets in particular
What the job involves
- We invite you to complete an internship in our marketing department to gain practical marketing experience with a focus on paid media and to familiarize yourself with an internationally operating company
- You will learn how organic and paid social media works, how to evaluate performance and what a holistic campaign design looks like
- As part of the digital marketing team, you will also support email marketing and work with the other teams within our marketing department
- You support the digital marketing team in the implementation of our campaigns
- Paid Social/Media: You will gain a deeper insight into the paid media space by assisting with our LinkedIn and Google Ads, following up on requests in the form of tickets, and learning how our reporting and monitoring work
- Organic social media: You will support us in the conception and setting of posts
- You will learn how to evaluate the performance of our campaigns
- From set-up to implementation and budget control, you will learn how campaigns work
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power the online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth.
