What the job involves
- At Wealthsimple, we offer 4 to 8-month internships that are open to co-op and non-co-op students, and recent grads. During your remote-first internship, you will be able to contribute to projects that are changing the landscape of financial services for Canadians
- You will be on a team that supports your growth and provides mentorship while also connecting to the broader Wealthsimple community!
- At Wealthsimple, we believe that Talent Acquisition’s job is to own the delivery of hiring needs by identifying and engaging top talent who align to our values, using data-driven recruitment strategies and a deep understanding of the company goals
- Learn how to design and deliver on practical recruitment strategies, that are collaborative and optimized for speed and quality
- Get hands-on with targeted recruitment data, analysing trends to make recommendations on how to recruit smarter
- Develop detailed documentation and process maps that make our recruitment strategy more efficient and scalable
- Actively contribute to refining and improving existing recruitment processes
- Participate in conversations with the business to identify and unlock hiring opportunities that will move the needle and make a real impact
- Work with our Coordination team to learn how to deliver a high-quality and consistent candidate and interviewer experience
- Work with our Early Talent team to build intern-programming that will deliver on an amazing employee experience and foster long-term growth
Our take
Wealthsimple is one of a crop of robo-advisors trying to democratize investment management. These companies are disrupting the industry by automating many of the processes involved in investment removing the need for human advisors.
But while other so-called robo-advisors are focused on courting the high end of the market, Wealthsimple is trying to provide the same types of tools and advice to all users, regardless of the amount they have to invest.
Wealthsimple does have higher fees than some other robo-advisors such as Betterment and Charles Schwab. However, the company believes that it provides a more user-friendly platform, tailored to millennials who will be attracted to Wealthsimple due to its ease of use and social impact offerings.
