Company mission
To change the way people prove their work identity.
Role
Who you are
- If you've been running your accounts like a business owner rather than a relationship manager, this is the right next move
What the job involves
- We're hiring a Key Account Manager for our mixed enterprise market portfolio of around 15 accounts, each starting at ARR of £100k+
- You will be working with some of our top level clients, and they get our most white-glove service
- This is not a sector-specific role
- Your portfolio will span industries such as healthcare, education, finance, professional services, retail and tech
- What these accounts share is commercial complexity and growth potential, not a sector
- You will be running as a top operator, in charge of retaining your clients and building the relationship with each one
- You will carry full commercial ownership of a complex portfolio, including renewals, pricing, expansion and risk
- You'll be the first call when something goes wrong, the person who spots the opportunity before the client does, and the internal voice that makes sure your clients are heard across Zinc
- You'll join a small, senior pod at the centre of Zinc's growth
- Our biggest customers are where the company is investing, and the enterprise book is growing
- You'll have direct access to leadership and real influence on how we serve enterprise customers, including shaping our Crème Experience Strategy rather than inheriting a finished playbook
- We run on data and AI
- You'll work with live account health signals, usage data and AI tooling, so you spend your time on judgement and relationships, not admin
- Our early-warning model is designed to catch risk before it becomes churn, and our pay structure rewards retention and the behaviours that drive it
- You'll work with a lead who has done the job and is invested in your growth
- There's a visible path into more senior enterprise roles as the function scales
- A portfolio of mixed market accounts (starting at £100k+ ARR) with full accountability for retention and NRR growth
- Renewal and expansion conversations led end to end, including pricing, contract terms and commercial negotiation
- Proactive account health management. You track leading indicators and don't wait for the client to flag something
- Senior stakeholder relationships built on commercial insight and delivery
- Internal advocacy for your clients. When something needs to move, you mobilise the right people across Customer Support, Product and Operations and drive it to resolution. You don't relay the problem, you own the outcome
- Championing the Zinc product with conviction. When clients push back, you engage rather than deflect
- A structured feedback loop from your portfolio into Product, Customer Support and leadership

Our take
The existing processes for referencing and background checking suffer from notable inefficiencies, marked by biases, time-consuming procedures, and an intimidating experience for candidates. Addressing these challenges, Zinc Work aims to solve these processes by introducing an automated reference and background-checking solution.
Setting itself apart in the market, Zinc Work focuses on the user-friendly design of its solution, its swift integration into existing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and its high level of customisation. With a vision to offer a solution for background checks, Zinc covers a spectrum from criminal record checks to financial, education, identity, employment, and reference checks.
Funding secured in 2023 was led by esteemed financial services investor AVP (AXA Venture Partners) and supported by Seedcamp, and will facilitate the launch of groundbreaking industry initiatives. These include the introduction of the first reusable global Right To Work check, the first Employment verification reference integrated with HMRC, and a background check template library collaboratively contributed to by over 40 Zinc Work customers. This financial injection underscored Zinc's commitment to innovation and reinforced its position as a trailblazer in the realm of automated reference and background checking solutions.
