Role
Who you are
- A desire to deeply understand our customers and the problems they face, in order to improve their day-to-day experience
- Hands-on experience across any tech stack, such as Go, Python, Ruby or Java on the backend, and Vue.js or React JS on the frontend. You don’t need to have necessarily worked across the stack, but you must have the willingness to learn and up-skill yourself
- An ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackling problems that might not be well defined and without obvious solutions
- A keen sense of curiosity, with a natural drive to learn and grow
- A passion to work collaboratively with others. We like to work as a team, not a collection of individuals and we expect you to have the same mindset
What the job involves
- You’ll join a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Designers, all collaborating together with the wider business to achieve impactful product outcomes
- Everyone is involved from day one in shaping opportunities that provide outsized value to both clients and suppliers on Risk Ledger, always keeping the users at the forefront of our minds
- We care deeply about building the right thing, in order to fundamentally shift mindsets in the cybersecurity industry. We ship quickly & continuously in order to learn and iterate - whilst always pushing for high standards and keeping security top of mind
- The core of our stack is Go, PostgreSQL and Vue.js with Typescript. Our product primarily sits on top of AWS, with ECS for container orchestration and all managed via Terraform
- Our Product Engineers play a crucial role in our user and product experience
- You will be focused on solving end-to-end product challenges in the best manner for our customers
- Whether you may have a natural inclination towards the backend or frontend, we expect you to be willing to delve into any aspect of our tech stack as necessary, to have an impact on our customers and the success of the business

- You’ll be collaborating on a daily basis with designers, product managers, other engineers and the wider business to create a great product experience and continuously ship value to our users
- As we are still a small but focused team, you will have the opportunity to impact our engineering strategy, codebase and developer experience as you progress in your career with us
- Collaborate to deliver an exceptional product. From understanding initial needs to crafting usable solutions, you'll work directly with product managers and designers to bring ideas to life. And by that, we don’t just mean implement requirements. We like our engineers to learn as much as possible about our customers so that over time they can suggest new features, challenge assumptions and really contribute to making our customers’ lives better
- Develop high quality systems and code. Working across our stack, you’ll design and develop the systems that underpin the Risk Ledger product and advance us towards our vision
- Move fast, with an eye for quality. You enjoy moving fast while maintaining a high quality of code through testing, seeking simplicity, striving for consistency and implementing best practices

Risk Ledger was founded with the goal to shift the way organisations deal with cybersecurity and information management in the supply chain. Through its platform, Risk Ledger is marking a turning point in the process of discovering, measuring and then mitigating security risks for companies, their clients and their suppliers. Risk Ledger is trying to lower the number of data breaches experienced by companies and consumers as a consequence of supply chain attacks on a global level.
According to research, over 60% of organisations have suffered a data breach originating in the supply chain with fines inevitably following. Mainstream risk assurance methods are no longer be able to effectively detect and mitigate the growing risk associated with more complex and more global supply chains. SMEs are also generally less resilient to security attacks than multinational corporations due to smaller budgets and teams; over 50,000 SMEs in the UK could collapse after a successful cyber attack.
Risk Ledger has helped customers collect supplier data up to 70% faster than before and reduced per-supplier costs by up to 90%. Its challenge now is to provide integrations with different tools and, by doing so, turn Risk Ledger into a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
