Company mission
To protect the world's critical infrastructure.
Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of legal experience in commercial transactions (law firm or in-house), ideally in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity
- Ability to manage complex deals with large, regulated organizations
- Strong communication skills, business acumen, and a pragmatic mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads to meet deadlines in a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Professional presence and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Interest in growing into a broader leadership role within a scaling legal function
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel who can step into a strategic role and help us build for the future. You’ll report to our General Counsel and work closely with our executive team, sales leadership, and product teams. This role isn’t just about contracts - it’s about earning trust with some of the most security-conscious organizations in the world and helping us scale responsibly
- You’ll be positioned to grow with the company and, over time, help shape and lead a broader commercial legal team under the GC
- Lead and own negotiations for high-value commercial agreements—SaaS, OEM, MSAs, enterprise, channel and professional services deals across critical industries
- Serve as a strategic partner to sales, product, revenue operations, and executive leaders—balancing efficiency and risk management in a fast-growth environment
- Develop, maintain, and enhance commercial playbooks and contract templates to improve operational efficiency, ensure consistency, and support scalability
- Provide practical, business-aligned legal guidance that supports our long-term growth and compliance
- Remain up-to-date on relevant industry laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice
Our take
Cyberattacks are becoming more sophisticated. For example, zero-day cyberattacks leverage vulnerabilities that are unknown even to the users and creators of a system. Tens of billions of dollars are being invested in protection, but OPSWAT delivers security solutions that nip the need for extra cyber defence in the bud.
The company's products focus on threat prevention, enacting a zero-trust mentality to ensure that technology systems are watertight from threats. For example, OPSWAT's MetaDefender platform incorporates advanced malware threat protection to detect vulnerable files and emails, as well as software, before it is even installed.
It’s this philosophy of “Trust No File, Trust No Device” that makes OPSWAT such a robust partner for the likes of AMEX and the United States Department of Justice. In addition to cyber protection products, the company also helps train future cyber defenders through its academy, which has trained 70,000 professionals so far.
