Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA or CPA a plus
- 8+ years of experience in a finance/strategy role at a tech company and/or progressive finance experience at a top management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity/VC fund
- Ability to work collaboratively to drive cross-functional execution on business goals with senior leadership, including a high level of genuine curiosity about our business and an eagerness to learn
- Comfortable moving between details and wider picture view, can “see the forest from the trees”
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with a formidable attention to detail, possessing strong interpersonal communication skills
- High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving, utilizing financial modeling, including advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable in unstructured or previously undefined situations, using data to draw conclusions and build models from scratch to drive action in unexplored/new strategic areas
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP to act as liaison with the Accounting team
- Financial planning software experience is a plus (e.g. Anaplan, Adaptive Planning)

What the job involves
- This is a unique opportunity to lead a broad scope of high-impact work across FP&A and strategic finance domains
- As a Manager on the Finance team, you will set the pace on and drive key projects within the financial management of the business, including forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, financial modeling, and reporting
- This FP&A role is unique as it encompasses traditional corporate finance, strategic planning, and business-oriented financial responsibilities
- You will partner with senior business leaders in a fast-paced environment to drive key decision-making across operations, strategic initiatives, and resource planning
- You will be a pivotal leader within a lean Finance team, driving impactful results for a growth-stage company with a standout product backed by top investors
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation of management discussion , analysis at the close of each month
- Guide GTM performance analysis in collaboration with other teams: financial performance, trend identification, and provide insights to improve decision-making
- Enhance internal financial reporting packages, highlighting growth drivers and performance relative to plan
- Collaborate with the Business Operations team to build and maintain driver-based revenue models and track KPIs
- Guide analysis and modeling for growth and strategic initiatives
- Lead the preparation of Board presentations, weekly/monthly business reviews, and ad hoc financial analysis
- Partner with accounting on monthly close, annual audit, and implementation of new systems and processes to evolve the company from a start-up to a public-ready organization
- Build and maintain detailed financial projections in support of our annual operating plan, long-range strategic plan, and periodic forecasts
- Identify and implement ways to improve forecasting, constantly refining approach over time
- Support any ad-hoc and other financial analyses as necessary

Gigs can be arranged within just a few hours of notice, and any employer or employee who cancels a job will be temporarily suspended in order to improve job success rates. Instawork's 2023 Series D funding is accelerating its AI capabilities and expanding its presence within staff distribution centres for some of the American continent's largest retailers and sports stadiums.
