Who you are
- 3+ years experience in Human Resources operations or coordination role with direct employee interaction and support
- Familiarity with HR processes, practices and policies
- Workday experience in offboarding, job changes
- Maintaining strict confidentiality; familiarity with data protection and handling a plus
- Adept in G-Suite and or Microsoft Office

What the job involves
- The HR Generalist position is at the front line for employee support to respond to inquiries, explain People Experience policies and processes, execute employee life cycle transactions in Workday in order to provide an excellent employee experience
- You will partner closely with the People Partners to execute talent practices
- This role also works closely with partners in People Experience and across Zoox to resolve issues, drive projects and support employees
- Deliver excellent front line employee support by responding to our crew’s inquiries and requests, providing guidance to crew on our company policies and procedures, and referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Work closely with cross-functional HR teams to ensure the timely execution of employee transactions and assist managers with Workday Manager Self Service as needed
- Execute tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to: assisting People Partners with performance reviews, promotions, compensation planning, and the employee engagement survey
- Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal/state legal requirements
- Manage the off-boarding of employees
- Work with the People Partners, Recruiters, and our Immigration team to assist with immigration matters
- Document process flows internally and externally
- Collect relevant HR Metrics/Data
- Identify problems or areas of inefficiency and recommend suggestions for improvement where appropriate
- Update any HR/People Partner related documentation on a regular basis on our internal systems to ensure we keep materials up to date
- Perform other duties as assigned
Our take
Zoox, a self-driving vehicle company, was founded to make personal transportation safer and more enjoyable for all. It has aimed to achieve this goal by creating a new mode of driverless transportation, thus eradicating the safety and logistical issues that come with human drivers.
It revealed its custom vehicle design in December 2020, showcasing something different from just a car without a driver. Uniquely, all four wheels are independent of one another, and the vehicles have no front or back, making them more agile than a standard car. Zoox claims that it is different from other industry players because it has created an entire driverless ecosystem, including the vehicle itself, allowing it to have more control.
The company is fast becoming a major player in an industry that is predicted to be worth $2 trillion by 2030. Electric motors are highly desirable, particularly in an urban environment, as governments look for ways to reduce emissions and improve air quality. Zoox is aiming to play a vital role in this evolution towards more sustainable urban mobility. Amazon acquired the company in 2020 and, despite a general downturn in the sector through 2022, is building a Zoox factory and budgeting $1 billion per year for future development and production.
