- Your role is pivotal in maintaining Dapper Labs as a trusted name in Web3 and digital collecting, merging traditional compliance wisdom with pioneering digital asset strategies
- Innovative Risk & Compliance Leadership:
- Develop and Maintain Compliance Guidelines: Craft and maintain cutting-edge compliance protocols that align with regulatory standards for digital assets and blockchain technologies
- Regulatory Vigilance: Stay ahead of cryptocurrency regulation changes and developments. Implement proactive measures for consistent compliance
- AML/BSA/OFAC Compliance Mastery: Utilize your deep knowledge of AML typologies and OFAC to identify risks in our web3 products, enhancing defense mechanisms against emerging threats
- Web3 Cryptocurrency Expertise:
- Blockchain Innovation: Apply your extensive web3 knowledge to the development and enhancement of our blockchain-based intellectual properties
- Fraud Prevention and Detection:
- Strategic Fraud Mitigation: Design, implement, and continually refine fraud prevention measures and strategies
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Holistic Approach: Work with legal, product, payments, data, and engineering teams to embed compliance and fraud prevention into all facets of our operations
- Departmental Guidance: Provide expertise and support to various departments on compliance and fraud prevention
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Insightful Reporting: Generate routine reports on compliance, fraud metrics, and the effectiveness of fraud prevention strategies for management review

Our take
Dapper Labs is a leader in the digital collectables space, best known for NBA Top Shot, a platform where fans can own and trade licensed basketball highlights as NFTs. By combining blockchain technology with fan engagement, Dapper Labs has transformed digital collecting.
The company recently faced a lawsuit claiming its NFTs were unregistered securities, leading to a nearly three-year legal battle. Dapper Labs reached a $4M settlement and agreed to implement compliance measures like employee training and faster payment processes. Despite the challenges, CEO Roham Gharegozlou views the settlement as a step toward regulatory clarity, ensuring continued innovation.
Despite this, the company is set to launch Disney Pinnacle, a digital pin-collecting platform featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars.
