Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience working in product analytics, ideally in a B2B setting
- BA/BS in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering with customer empathy or a BA/BS in behavioral science (economics, psychology, etc) with deep statistics skills
- Excellent SQL & Python skills
- Demonstrated experience turning vague business problems into statistical rigorous analyses & solutions (e.g. predictive modeling, causal inference)
- Strong communication skills that inspire action. You have the ability to use data to inform, align, and lead
- Strong sense of autonomy, ownership, and velocity
- Strong critical thinking & problem solving
- Demonstrated experience advancing a company’s data capabilities
Desirable
- Experience working with product data at a company like Shopify, Amazon, Uber, Lyft, Instacart, or the like
- Strong customer empathy, particularly for dentists
- Experience in working and learning in an earlier stage company where we’re still working out some of the basics
- Familiarity with generative AI concepts
What the job involves
- We're on the hunt for a senior data scientist who can tackle some of our most significant challenges in the realm of analytics for the Product team. This function is responsible for key aspects of Dandy’s business, obsessing about the customer experience.
- This role will support them to grow recurring revenue, improve customer retention, and enhance our product experience through increased feature usage
- In this highly cross-functional role, you will work autonomously to leverage data analysis to provide recommendations that make Dandy a more compelling service for our customers
- Utilize your data super powers to reduce ambiguity and solve problems
- Be a strategic thought partner with cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop and share insights that drive the product and revenue teams to better serve, acquire, and retain customers
- Define the data language (i.e. KPIs, dashboards, measurement, etc) to ensure your team grasps the underlying truth that drives progress and success
- Design and execute complex A/B experiments that cater our product offering to our customer’s needs and boost recurring revenue
- Facilitate rapid decision making through ad hoc work or by democratizing data/self service in partnership with our data engineers
- Actively uplevel the Data organization through mentoring other analysts

Dentistry, a $400B industry, has long relied on outdated practices. Dandy was created to modernize and simplify dental operations by integrating technology into every aspect of the dental practice. Its goal is to streamline workflows, making dental practices more efficient and easier to manage.
While other startups have tried to bring technology to the dental field, Dandy distinguishes itself by understanding the industry's complexity and respecting the way dentists operate. Rather than overwhelming practitioners with a complete overhaul, Dandy introduces new features gradually, such as digitizing dental labs for procedures like crowns and implants. It makes the dental experience seamless for both sides of the chair, and to date, more than 2 million people use a Dandy dental product daily.
Dandy aims to build a full operating system for dental practices, offering a "business-in-a-box" solution that allows dentists to focus on patient care while the platform handles administrative and operational tasks. While this vision has the potential to bring immense value to a field in need of innovation, the challenge lies in overcoming dentistry's resistance to change. Patience and persistence will be key as Dandy reshapes how dental professionals run their practices.
