Who you are

- 2-4 years of experience in a B2B sales role, preferably within the retail industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage an enterprise sales process involving multiple stakeholders over an extended sales cycle
- Proven experience in negotiating and finalizing contracts
- Consistent track record of surpassing sales quotas
- Intrinsic motivation to achieve and exceed established goals
- Exhibits a high level of professionalism at all times
- Open and responsive to feedback to enhance performance
- Exceptional communication skills encompassing written, verbal, and attentive listening abilities; willingness to engage in cold-calling
- Detail-oriented mindset with robust time-management skills, adept at effective prioritization
- Proficiency in utilizing HubSpot or similar CRM databases
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, workflows, and follow-ups effectively
- Experience planning and supporting events (e.g., trade shows, happy hours, client dinners) is a plus
- Familiarity with AI-powered sales and prospecting tools (e.g., Clay, Lemlist) is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience
What the job involves
- ThredUP is expanding our Resale-As-A-Service (RaaS) Sales team and is looking for a full time Account Executive to bring new retail clients onto the RAAS platform. Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Client Success, you will play a significant role in securing new revenue opportunities and building upon an already successful venture with a growing list of brand clients including J. Crew, Madewell, Tommy Hilfiger, GAP, Cotopaxi and others
- This position requires a self starter who thrives in fast paced startup environments where problem solving and collaboration is essential. The ideal candidate can work independently and know when to pull in cross functional team members to help bring key deals to fruition
- This position can be located in either Oakland, CA or remotely in New York
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closure
- Play a pivotal role within our sales team, ensuring the achievement of client acquisition targets and revenue objectives
- Collaborate closely with our Head of Business Development and Client Success to develop and refine our sales strategies
- Provide guidance to Business Development Representatives (BDRs), assisting them in devising effective outreach strategies to collectively meet goals
- Actively participate in identifying and crafting sales collateral and scalable sales processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Marketing teams to relay frontline customer feedback, thereby contributing to the enhancement of our product roadmap
- Generate a robust pipeline through proactive cold outreach to complement inbound and BDR-generated leads
- Maintain precise and comprehensive records of all outreach and communications within the company's CRM system
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Clay, Lemlist) to build targeted prospect lists and execute data-driven outreach campaigns
- Own and continuously optimize the outbound outreach strategy
- Represent the company at 5–6 industry events annually to build relationships and generate new business opportunities
- Plan and execute client-facing events at industry conferences, including happy hours and hosted dinners, to strengthen relationships and generate new business opportunities

Over 40% of Gen Z consumers claim to have bought used clothing as opposed to 20% of Gen X and Boomers. Yet, despite this change in fashion trends, consumers must often rely on brick-and-mortar thrift stores and unregulated second-hand eCommerce marketplaces in order to access and find pre-owned clothing.
ThredUp provides an online marketplace for the buying and selling of secondhand fashionwear, offering affordable prices on discount clothing whilst promising a regulated and consistent approach to quality and cleanliness standards. The company acquires its clothing through sellers sending packages of clothing, which the company then sifts through to decide what is sellable and what should be returned.
The company went public in 2021 and immediately acquired Remix, a European second-hand fashion outlet, as part of its international expansion plans. It has, however, struggled to achieve profitability thanks to global economic turmoil and a glut of new clothing in the fashion industry, causing prices to drop sharply. It is focusing on reducing its operating costs and expanding its storage capacity. Analysts expect it to weather the current conditions in good form.
