Role
Who you are
- 6-10 yrs total in product with ≥ 2-4 yrs in a leadership seat
- Proven success in a 0 → 1 Startup journey (Pre-seed/Seed/Series A/B)
- Deep understanding of LLMs (prompt engineering trade-offs, latency/cost constraints, evals, RAG, few-shot vs. chain-of-thought, 'token maths')
- Technical experience, e.g, working with REST APIs, basic networking & web architecture, front-end and back-end fundamentals, and database & storage basics (It's a plus if you have true engineering experience, but not a requirement)
- Vibe coding experience, e.g., in AI-IDEs like Cursor or Windsurf
- The rare combination of a winning mentality and a kind, low-ego personality (hard requirement)

What the job involves
- Stand-up a lightweight product operating system (road-mapping cadences, KPI tree, discovery ↔ delivery rituals)
- Ship the next 2–3 high-conviction bets that extend PMF and raise conversion metrics
- Build and manage the product team as we grow
- Own the roadmap & metrics. Set and maintain the end-to-end product roadmap, define and monitor product metrics, and keep the leadership team up to date on progress and risks
- Re-prioritise weekly. Run a short weekly planning ritual to adjust near-term priorities and product bets based on the latest customer signals
- Stay close to customers. Join prospect demos and customer calls and run structured interviews
- Partner with engineering. Work with our senior engineers to agree what we build, how we test it first, and how we scope it to ship fast—providing clear outcome context rather than micromanaging the “how”
- Unblock Product Operations. Collaborate with our (non-technical) Product Ops / solutions team to surface recurring blockers, give leverage to the team, and spot opportunities for automation
- We are currently 20 people with 3 people in engineering and 2 in product, specifically
Application process
- STAGE 1. A 30-minute intro call with Ollie Grimes (Product Associate). You’ll get an overview of Kernel, speak a bit about your own motivations, what you’re good at (and not so good!) plus an opportunity to ask questions
- STAGE 2. A 30-minute call with our current Head of Product, Marcus (Hiring Manager). This is an opportunity for you to talk about products you're proud of having built
- STAGE 3. A take-home task where you’ll be asked to solve a real-world problem we’ve come across. You’ll spend a maximum of 2 hours on this challenge. You can use any AI tools you want to solve it
- STAGE 4. Come to our office for a 45-min product interview with Marcus and Sam (Founding Engineer). We’ll work through your take-home task and ask clarifying questions to understand your thinking
- FINAL STAGE. Anders (Founder + CEO) conducts our Founder Interview. It’s a values-based discussion exploring your personal and professional values and how they align with ours
- Reference calls & Offer

- We’ll email you an offer letter and simultaneously schedule a call to discuss the offer, package and answer any questions you might have
- Reference calls: We will first have to complete at least 2 reference calls with your past managers and/or peers
