Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in event marketing, including owning and executing complex B2B trade show and event programs
- Proven experience managing multi-event portfolios with booths ranging from small (10×10) to large-format (150+ sq ft), including planning, execution, and reporting
- Experience supporting product launches and evolving product portfolios through events, ensuring effective market positioning
- Strong project management skills, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects, resources, budgets, and onsite personnel under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills — written, oral, and cross-functional collaboration, including partnering effectively with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams
- Data and metric-driven, with the ability to draw insights from event and marketing data to optimize outcomes
- Creative, innovative, and proactive — able to identify new opportunities and think outside the box to improve event experiences
- Confident, friendly, and dynamic personality, able to serve as a brand ambassador at events
- Comfortable traveling ~25% of the time to attend events and oversee onsite execution

What the job involves
- The Marketing Manager, Events is based at Formlabs’ global headquarters in Boston, where the company was founded and where most of our teams are located
- From HQ, this role works closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Design, and Leadership to shape how Formlabs shows up on some of our most important stages
- This role owns the strategy, planning, execution, and performance of a portfolio of events, with a strong focus on key trade shows and Formlabs-owned events
- Formlabs participates in approximately 20 trade shows annually, ranging from 10×10 booths to large-format exhibits of 150+ square feet, while continuously bringing new products and applications to market
- You will independently define and execute event programs, collaborate across functions to achieve clear objectives, and continuously improve how our experiential marketing efforts support the business
- Own a portfolio of various trade shows, from 10×10 booths to 150+ sq ft exhibits
- Develop and execute plans to achieve event objectives, ensuring milestones are met and outcomes are delivered
- Lead end-to-end event planning and execution, including pre/post-event campaigns, staffing, booth management, and internal enablement for demos and presentations
- Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to ensure event presence effectively represents the brand and showcases our growing product portfolio
- Manage budgets, contracts, vendors, and logistics, optimizing spend and operational efficiency across multiple event formats
- Serve as a visible brand ambassador, building relationships with customers, partners, and prospects onsite
- Gather and analyze event performance insights, using learnings to continuously improve formats, messaging, and attendee experience
- Collaborate across Sales, Product, Design, and Marketing teams, providing recommendations and influencing decisions to maximize event impact
- Responsible for ordering and tracking event inventory including collateral, giveaways, etc
Our take
Formlabs' founders met at MIT in 2011, and set about creating a company that would disrupt the 3D printing market. While the majority of the industry was experiencing a crash, Formlabs managed to buck the trend by implementing additive manufacturing (stereolithography) to a desktop form factor.
While many 3D printing manufacturers have tried in vain to market their hardware to home users, Formlabs has maintained a laser-sharp focus on serving the needs of professionals and large-scale companies such as Coke and Sony. Striving to keep costs low while maintaining an optimal user experience, the company has sold well over 100,000 printers.
With considerable funding at its back, Formlabs has continued to develop new solutions such as a series of mass manufacturing solutions that enable its customers to dramatically increase their 3D printing output. As the largest supplier of professional SLA and SLS 3D printers in the world, the company is well set to further its position and achieve further global growth.
