Who you are
- This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone who can quickly build trust, navigate ambiguity, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- 5-7 years of People / HR experience at a fast-growing organization with at least 4 years as an HR Business Partner, supporting various teams
- Background supporting various workforce segments, including hourly and salaried, is a plus
- Proven ability to quickly develop trust-based partnerships with leaders and influence across levels of the organization
- Strong experience in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and performance enablement. Known for sound judgement and discretion
- Strong experience managing organizational changes (i.e. building change timelines, communications, and scenario planning)
- Thrives in ambiguity, takes full ownership of outcomes, and moves quickly without rushing decisions
- A strategic mindset and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude -- no task is too small for you
- Excellent communication and coaching - 1:1 and in written/internal communications
- Working knowledge of employment law
What the job involves
- As a Temporary People Partner, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high-impact HR support and implementing people programs across teams at Ro, including Communications, Brand, Growth, Finance, and Legal
- You’ll partner closely with team leaders, contributing to a high-performance and inclusive culture while ensuring smooth execution of people strategies and policies
- This is a 6-month temporary role
- Act as the primary, strategic HR partner to the leaders of the Brand, Communications, Growth, Finance, and Legal teams to align people strategies with team objectives, ensuring business outcomes are met
- Drive employee engagement, performance enablement, talent development, and organizational design initiatives across your client groups
- Coach managers on performance management, employee relations, and team development practices, ensuring consistency with company practices and principles
- Foster a positive employee relations environment through proactive communication and fair application of policies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Performance & Growth, Compensation, Recruiting, and Legal to implement relevant programs and policies across teams (onboarding, offboarding, transitions)
- Guide organizational change initiatives and support leadership through growth, restructuring, and transitions in partnership with the Associate Director, People Partner
- Analyze people data and trends to develop proactive solutions that drive positive outcomes

Our take
Ro is a healthcare startup that connects patients directly to physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. The founders of Ro established the company because they felt that health insurance wasn’t working as it should, as the pooled cost of expensive treatments means that the price of individual doctor visits is inflated.
Ro’s primary care platform powers a personalized, end-to-end healthcare experience from diagnosis, to delivery of medication, to ongoing care. Instead of having to travel to a doctor’s office, Ro customers can access a video conference with a physician on-demand, from the comfort of their own home.
In order to tap into the global medical market, which is worth over $4 trillion, Ro raised $150 million at a valuation of $7 billion in 2022. It has expanded to more health areas, such as skincare and mental health, and launched an online pharmacy. Despite this, a substantial number of layoffs in spring 2022 indicated that Ro's accelerated growth had caused problems with its internal organization. Having now narrowed its focus and spending more on less, Ro has streamlined its operations and looks to continue on a steady upward trajectory.
