Who you are
- The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with complex financial models, and able to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance roles within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably at a SaaS or technology company
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Experience preparing analyses and clearly communicating results to stakeholders and management
- Highly independent and proactive, capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive experience with financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and CRMS
- Proven ability to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and drive innovative solutions to complex business problems

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Manager, Finance Strategy, to play a key role in driving financial performance, margin optimization, and strategic decision-making across the business
- This role will focus on understanding unit economics, cost structures, and profitability drivers, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights that support growth and scalability
- This is a hands-on, high-impact role within a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Own and drive financial analysis and strategic insights related to gross margin, unit economics, and cost structures across the business
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate profitability, cost drivers, and margin performance across products, customers, and initiatives
- Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and operating cost trends, identifying opportunities for efficiency, optimization, and margin improvement
- Lead cost management and margin improvement initiatives, supporting informed decision-making and long-term financial sustainability
- Own royalties and usage-based cost management, including agreement tracking, calculations, accruals, and compliance with contractual terms
- Prepare clear, concise analyses and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support pricing, investment, and strategic planning decisions
- Partner cross-functionally with leaders across Finance, Product, Operations, and Engineering to understand business drivers and translate them into financial implications
- Support ad hoc strategic analyses and leadership requests related to financial performance, profitability, and growth initiatives
- Own the AI enablement roadmap for Finance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across core financial processes
- Design and deploy AI-powered automation, agents, and workflows to streamline forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial close
- Leverage AI to generate deeper financial insights by analyzing performance data, benchmarking peers, and identifying key trends, risks, and cost drivers
- Track adoption and measure the business impact of AI tools within Finance, ensuring continuous improvement and clear linkage to cost savings, margin improvement, and cash efficiency

Modern law firms increasingly manage their work digitally but the lack of a specialised remote solution means that workflows have become fragmented. This leads to legal practice managers having to juggle multiple software solutions across various devices.
Clio provides a legal practice management platform designed for law firms, allowing users to manage billing for legal aid cases, access and manage documents and store files across multiple devices. Whilst other startups are operating in this niche, Clio has uniquely focussed on synchronisation across remote devices and on a wide range of integrations, allowing the user to access information from other industry standard software such as Xero and Klyant from within a single interface.
Clio has raised a large amount of investment capital and benefited from the COVID-era move to cloud technologies. Most recently, it raised a 2024 Series F round, which saw the company attain a valuation exceeding $3 billion. This funding is being used to accelerate AI development and to allow existing investors and employees to cash out their shares.
