Who you are
- 7-10 years demonstrated experience working on distributed systems
- Proven track record in leading large-scale projects from 0 to 1
- Effective communication skills and cross-team collaboration abilities
- Ads domain expertise and tuned to industry trends
- Proficiency in problem-solving and attention to detail
- Experience with large datasets and multiple datastore technologies
- Strong coding abilities in at least one language. Python or Kotlin experience preferred
- Genuine curiosity and a hunger for learning
- Strong desire to serve local communities and neighbors worldwide
Desirable
- Prior experience in conversion modeling or probabilistic attribution
- Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis
- Knowledge of privacy-preserving data analysis methods
What the job involves
- As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer within the monetization group at Nextdoor, you’ll drive impactful community-focused revenue strategies.
- In this role you will collaborate with innovative teams, transforming local connections into sustainable growth
- Designing, implementing, and optimizing ads measurement systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including backend engineers, data scientists, machine learning teams, and client teams within Ads
- Analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and inform system improvements in ads measurement
- Developing privacy-enduring ads measurement solutions
- Leading projects from zero to one, building something from the ground up
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to Nextdoor’s company culture
