Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in month-end/year-end close activities and general ledger accounting
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical device company preferred
- CPA license preferred
- Experience with larger ERP systems such as NetSuite
- Experience with Sunshine Act Compliance preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various levels of the organization
- Experience in managing audits and tax filing preparation
- Highly detail-oriented, organized and a team player
What the job involves
- The Manager, Accounting will report to and work closely with the Sr. Manager, Accounting, and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, account balances are reconciled, and monthly variances are explained
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Review existing and implement new accounting processes and procedures to improve the month-end close cycle
- Manage the annual external audit to ensure an efficient and smooth process with successful results. Prepare lead sheets and schedules to satisfy PBC requirements and correspond with the auditors for additional requests
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure timely compliance, particularly monthly remittance of Sales & Use Tax returns and other government agency requirements
- Establishes and communicates a strategic vision for the accounting function
- Performing tasks and ad hoc projects, as needed, to meet the Accounting Team’s deliverables
