Role
Who you are
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 3+ years of experience with web application development
- Understanding of design principles and user interface guidelines
- Mastery of modern web development (Javascript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Stay up to date with modern industry tools and emerging technologies, including AI-driven frameworks and workflows, and help evaluate how they can be applied effectively
- Demonstrated success building dynamic, responsive applications using Angular, RxJS, Node
- Demonstrated success developing and consuming APIs and microservices to facilitate data access, business logic, and workflow (RESTful services, JSON, GraphQL)
- Experience with SQL Server, MySQL

What the job involves
- As an engineering growth engineering group, you’ll not only get deep into coding on a day-to-day basis, but you will be in a position to drive technical decisions, mentor other developers, and influence the future of our front-end vision and technologies
- Leverage AI and LLM-powered tools to improve developer productivity, experimentation, and front-end user experiences
- Design and develop dynamic, responsive, and interactive web applications
- Translate requirements, wireframes, and conceptual designs into high quality, visually appealing, and intuitive user interfaces and user experiences
- Take ownership of front-end components and drive continual expansion, reuse, and improvement across the board
- Integrate with back-end infrastructure, mostly cloud-based
- Analyze and solve problems across all levels of the stack
- Produce clean, secure, testable, maintainable, reusable, well-documented code, and participate in and drive regular code reviews
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
Our take
Next Insurance serves small businesses by making it much simpler to take out an insurance policy without the headache associated with many providers. To begin trading any business needs to have some sort of insurance policy in place, traditional offerings can take weeks, often requiring tedious paperwork.
Next Insurance has opted to use AI, machine learning and transparent language to make the process much simpler, and it can take just five to ten minutes for customers to obtain a package that suits them.
While Next Insurance is facing established insurance companies such as Hiscox and State Farm, its partnership with Amazon Business Prime to insure its members in a move to target traditionally underserved insurance customers and more recently with LegalZoom, to simplify the insurance process, as well as its nearly half a million customers has the company well set to remain major player in the space.
