Role
Who you are
- Expert SQL including complex window functions, recursive CTEs, query plan analysis, and cost-based optimization
- Deep dbt knowledge including advanced macros, custom tests, package development, and CI/CD integration
- Experience with Snowflake and/or ClickHouse at scale
- Python proficiency (pandas, numpy, scipy, statsmodels)
- Statistical rigor: hypothesis testing, regression, time series, and experimental design
- Ability to build, validate, and communicate forecast models with proper uncertainty quantification
- Strong cross-functional communication—can translate between data and business with any audience
- Bachelor's or Master's in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, or equivalent
- P3: 2–4 years | P4: 4–7 years | P5: 7+ years in analytics, data science, or quantitative roles
Desirable
- Experience building metric layers (Transform, MetricFlow, or custom)
- ClickHouse optimization (materialized views, projections, TTL)
- Bayesian methods or causal inference experience
- Manufacturing-specific knowledge: SPC, control charts, process capability
- Orchestration experience (Dagster, Airflow)
- Background in OR, industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain, or quantitative finance
What the job involves
- As a Data Analyst, you will own the analytical foundation that the entire company runs on
- Reporting to the Sr. Director of Data & IT, you will define what "certified data" means at Hadrian, build the forecasting models that drive planning decisions, and set the standards that let analytics scale across 20+ autonomous factories
- This role sits at the intersection of every business function—Finance, Manufacturing Ops, Production Planning, Quality Engineering, and Sales—connecting financial models to factory floor reality
- Architect and maintain the certified dataset layer in dbt—models, tests, documentation, and SLAs that the entire company trusts
- Build forecasting models for demand planning, capacity utilization, delivery risk, and financial projections
- Define metric standards: canonical definitions, calculation logic, ownership, and refresh cadence
- Perform cross-functional deep dives connecting financial and operational data (e.g., margin erosion vs. throughput changes)
- Build scalable reporting frameworks that work at 1 factory and 20
- Develop anomaly detection for manufacturing KPIs—surface problems before ops does
- Present findings to executives, ops leaders, and finance with appropriate precision
- Mentor BizOps analysts and junior team members on SQL, statistics, and communication
- Partner with Data Engineering on pipeline architecture, data contracts, and quality SLAs
Our take
Hadrian is an industrial automation company that creates autonomous factories for aerospace components. Founded by a former history student, the inspiration for Hadrian was the notion that throughout history, empires begin to fall when they outsource their core industries to lower-cost countries, resulting in internal stagnation and mass unemployment.
To counter this historic trend, founder Chris Power founded Hadrian, which uses machine learning to automate the processes of component factories. Power honed in on key US industries that were lacking in scalable solutions. Aerospace and defence is one area in which the USA relies on boutique experts who lack the manpower to build at scale. This factory automation solution addresses bottlenecks in manufacturing aerospace components that slow down progress due to owner-operated machine shops.
With investment from early Facebook and Airbnb investors Andreessen Horowitz, Hadrian is setting a precedent for a new era of machine work innovation. Hadrian’s main challenge will be convincing smaller manufacturers in the sector to embrace the precision and time-saving benefits of automation. With two factories now operational, Hadrian is using funding to continue its team and product growth, so as to meet the growing demand for component manufacturing.
