Who you are
- Have 4-10 years experience building production, full-stack software with a focus on usability
- Have experience building and maintaining scalable internal applications and platforms
- Excel at modern web development (React, TypeScript, Node.js)

What the job involves
- Anthropic is looking for an empathetic engineer to build internal tools that enable and increase productivity for our employees, including scenarios for fraud, trust & safety, sales, and support teams
- You'll collaborate closely with internal users to understand needs and create efficient solutions, often augmenting the tools with Claude for a greater experience and impact

- Rapidly design, prototype and build full-stack internal tools for business-critical use cases
- Consult with different teams to deeply understand their workflows and identify opportunities for improved productivity through engineering
- Iterate rapidly based on user feedback to continuously improve our tools
- Create intuitive interfaces that make complex tasks simple and efficient
- Monitor system reliability, build for operational excellence, and lead incident response when issues arise
- Champion best practices in API design, security, and user experience

Our take
Funded by Google and founded by ex-OpenAI employees, Anthropic is an AI company focused on building a reliable, innovative AI system. While the company is relatively new to the market it has already launched a highly anticipated AI chat assistant called Claude which is set to rival OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Similar to other chatbots, Claude is accessible through a chat interface and can provide a number of conversation and text-processing tasks. A key point of differentiation is that Claude is designed to produce less harmful outputs than that of the other chatbots that came before it.
While there is much praise for the chat assistant, there is still room for improvement with feedback reporting that Claude is worse at maths and grammar compared to its rival. However, with industry giants like Google backing this company from an early stage, it is clear Anthropic has the potential to become a leading player within the AI industry.
