Role
Who you are
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology or similar experience
- 1-2 years of experience in forensics, incident response, or security operations
- Foundational experience with Linux and MacOS systems, including deep knowledge of system internals, logging, and forensic artifacts
- Foundational understanding of information security concepts, including incident response, threat detection, and network security
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, or MacOS) and an understanding of basic system logs and commands
- Knowledge of security tools such as SIEM, EDR, or firewall systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning about cybersecurity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work well in a team environment
- Scripting or coding knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Basic Understanding of Kubernetes is a plus
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar are a plus but not required
- You love diving into complex security incidents, quickly making sense of large amounts of data, and turning insights into decisive action
- You’re curious about emerging threats, new detection methods, and ways to improve response processes across different systems and environments
- You’re an expert in using modern security tools and platforms to investigate, contain, and remediate incidents in high-pressure, real-time situations
What the job involves
- We are looking for a proactive Security Operations Engineer I specializing in security event triaging and incident response to join our 24x7 Security Operations team based in our Livingston, New Jersey Global Security Operations Center
- In this role, you will lead initial triaging, escalation and incident response efforts, and contribute to the improvement of our detection and response capabilities
- Be part of a 24/7/365 GSOC, that includes a rotating on-call schedule for overnights/weekends
- Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and other security tools to identify potential security incidents
- Assist in the triage, investigation and management of security alerts, helping to determine the severity and impact of potential incidents
- Assist in creating new detections (detections-as-code) during incidents, analysis, containment, and remediation, ensuring rapid response to potential threats across Linux, MacOS, and Kubernetes environments
- Escalate incidents to senior engineers when necessary and assist with containment, mitigation, and resolution efforts
- Maintain and update incident response documentation and reports
- Participate in post-incident reviews, contributing to lessons learned and process improvements
- Stay current on the latest security trends, threats, and tools, contributing to the development of improved detection and response strategies
- Provide support for security awareness initiatives to help educate staff on security best practices and phishing defense

CoreWeave reduces prediction times and makes service requests faster and more efficient. This, in turn, cuts cloud costs considerably. This has proven to be a strong draw for many companies, with CoreWeave signing a lucrative partnership with GPU heavyweight NVIDIA as well as partnering with BitOoda, which has allowed it to expand its operations to the financial market.
However, in 2023 it closed three very significant rounds of funding (Series B and debt and secondary extensions), which is being invested into expanding its US-based data centers, opening two new ones in the coming year. The question remains whether, despite 2023's big investments in the sector, CoreWeave can maintain this momentum and whether generative AI's stock will continue to rise.
