Who you are
- Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: predictive modeling, statistics, experimental design, optimization, data visualization
- Understanding of marketing metrics and KPIs, with experience in campaign optimization, Lifetime Value (LTV) modeling, and incrementality analysis
- Strong business acumen and domain knowledge in user acquisition, product marketing, and privacy frameworks like ATT
- Strong experience in SQL and Python; Adept in at least one visualization tool such as Tableau
- Strong communication skills — you can explain complex data in simple, actionable terms
- A team player, you establish effective relationships to work with others for the win

What the job involves
- We are looking to welcome yet another brilliant Principal Marketing Data Analyst into our Marketing Analytics team
- As a Lead Data Analyst, you’ll be responsible for designing and driving high-impact analytics solutions—from developing advanced statistical frameworks to evaluate marketing performance, to building data pipelines that integrate third-party sources, to creating interactive tools that empower partner teams
- These are just a few examples of the initiatives you’ll help lead and deliver end-to-end, playing a key role in shaping the technical direction of our analytics efforts
- The demands on this team are constantly evolving with the needs of Socialpoint’s and Zynga’s dynamic marketing teams, so it is important that you be able to adapt and utilize your time efficiently
- Act as a thought partner to marketing leaders, identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation
- Mentor junior analysts and help shape the analytics team’s culture and processes.Work with the Marketing and user Acquisition teams to provide insights into user behavior and answer key business questions
- Visualize and communicate the results of your data analysis to senior stakeholders, making data driven recommendations that support key decisions
- Apply statistical methodologies to evaluate performance and account for uncertainties in major initiatives
Our take
Zynga is a games developer that rode Facebook's platform to success back in the late noughties and early 2010's. It is now one of the biggest casual game producers globally, with a presence across 175 countries and regions and over 80 million monthly active users.
Though the company hit a number of roadblocks after its initial success - such as falling stock prices, and numerous calls it was copying other games - its subsequent resurgence is proof of its staying power. It continues to use social media as a distribution channel, and boasts titles such as FarmVille, Merge Dragons! and Words With Friends.
Future success will lie in the company's continued investment in building viral games that people love. It will also need to attune to the social media waves and keep track of where users can be found, as the landscape has become more mobile. Notable recent activity includes a collaboration with BBC Earth ahead of 2024's Earth day, and grant to develop actionable push notifications that enable gameplay without entering the application.
