Role
Who you are
- You are a self-starter, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Comfortable working with data in Excel/Google Sheets
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Previous experience in sales, business development or engagement roles. Comfortable with speaking to a multitude of people in one day
- Experience in a start-up, consulting, or growth/operations role is a plus
- Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and take ownership of your projects
- Able to work from the Amsterdam office 4 days per week
What the job involves
- As a Workforce Growth Intern at Flink, you will gain hands-on experience in driving rider engagement, coordinating with external partners, and supporting operational efficiency.
- You will work closely with the growth, data, and operations teams to support both tactical and strategic initiatives while focusing on engaging with riders from day one
- Your role will be predominantly based around engaging with employees on their first day as well as following up on new hires. You will be our frontline interacting with the operation and understanding where we can improve!
- Calling and engaging with riders to ensure satisfaction, gather feedback, and support retention initiatives
- Coordinating and executing projects in collaboration with external companies and partners
- Performing detailed data entry, validation, and reporting to support team operations and business insights
- Working on site with new riders, introducing them to our workflows and apps
Our take
Online grocery delivery services in Europe range from early supermarket-specific services to the more recent success of mobile food-ordering applications. However despite their proliferation grocery delivery services still face long waiting lists and logistic bottlenecks, with faster solutions coming with a compromise on the range and quality of products.
Flink provides an online website and mobile application for the delivery of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other organic-quality groceries to European homes. The company provides its services to over 100 different European cities across Germany,and the Netherlands and claims that its grocery deliveries are provided at supermarket prices within 10 minutes of ordering.
Flink is one of the few remaining independent grocery delivery startups in Europe, with most of the others either having been acquired or shut down. German rival Gorillas for instance ate through its initial investments and was taken over in 2022. Flink has been playing a more conservative strategy, aiming for more steady growth, but had to receive a fresh investment round of 100 million euros in 2024 to help it outlast competitors. Rumors of a potential merger with competitor companies indicate the lengths that Flink is going to maintain its dominance in a market that, at present, is suffering from lower demand and higher costs.
