Who you are
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development and system architecture
- Technical Skills: Expertise in designing scalable systems, working with data-oriented technologies, and implementing production-grade software
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or Golang
- Tools & Technologies: Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), databases (SQL, NoSQL), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex, real world problems
What the job involves
- As a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend at Kiddom, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering full-stack product features with a strong emphasis on frontend architecture
- Your work will involve scoping, building, and optimizing product features and cross-cutting concerns to address complex problems at scale
- You will collaborate with other senior-level engineers, select the appropriate tools and technologies, and implement robust, production-grade software solutions
- Design & Delivery: Own the design and delivery of full-stack product features, focusing on frontend architecture and scalability
- Data Solutions: Scope out and build the best-possible data solutions for both green-field and legacy problems, ensuring they meet the scale and performance requirements
- Tool Selection: Shortlist and evaluate tools and technologies that align with project goals and technical requirements
- Implementation & Validation: Develop and validate production-grade software solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance
- Abstractions & Integration: Build abstractions that improve integration with common data stack-oriented technologies and generalize your work to benefit a variety of use cases
- Impactful Features: Develop key product features that directly impact the success of the company and enhance the overall user experience
- Scale & Complexity: Tackle the challenge of designing and implementing scalable solutions for a high-impact platform
- Innovation: Explore and adopt new technologies to enhance our tech stack and stay at the forefront of the industry
Our take
Digital education has become an increasing reality in recent years. Whilst services such as Zoom have provided platforms for remote teaching, the minimal functionality of such services has outlined the lack of digital engagement tools that classrooms require.
Kiddom develops a collaborative learning platform for K-12 schooling, with integrated solutions for remote teaching, in-person school and homework assignments. The platform allows teachers to assign tasks and to collaborate with students on them, whilst the software gathers data to provide insights on student engagement and performance.
The startup currently provides its services to individual teachers for free, but solutions for inter-institutional curriculums come at an annual subscription fee. Kiddom’s approach aims to fill the gap between remote and in-school teaching, at the same time as integrating student analytics to optimize and personalize the way students are educated.
