Security Engineer, Coinbase

• Extensive experience in engineering roles with a focus on cybersecurity, systems security, or network security
• Profound expertise in designing and implementing robust security architectures and protocols
• Demonstrated leadership in conducting risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in cybersecurity
• Strong knowledge of cryptography and public key infrastructure
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security into the development lifecycle
• Proficiency in managing and optimizing security technologies and tools
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire and guide a team toward security excellence
• You’ve worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB or DynamoDB
• You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems
• Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP or similar networking protocols. Experience with network design of complex distributed systems
• Ability to work in our office in Dublin, Ireland

• As a Security Engineer, you will assume a pivotal role in orchestrating and leading our security team, ensuring the continuous safety and protection of our digital assets

• Design, develop and integrate secure hardware and software solutions to generate digital material
• Define & contribute to security requirements for hardware and software design

• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses to proactively identify and address potential security loopholes

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security features into the entire development lifecycle of products and services
• Oversee the implementation of security solutions, including encryption, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Python, Golang
• Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices
