What the job involves

  • Anchorage Digital is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Institutional Sales Representative to join our team. As a member of the sales team, you will be integral to driving forward the growth and future success of the Anchorage Wealth Management custody and trading platform for RIAs, Asset Managers, Broker Dealers, Banks and other financial institution
  • In this role you will act as an ambassador for the company and our industry, building Anchorage Digital’s reputation as the premier digital asset venue for the wealth management ecosystem and acting as a critical source of client insights and market intelligence, helping to inform our product roadmap and business plan
  • We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Institutional Sales Representative role:
  • Drive new business sales and add-on business with existing clients for Anchorage Digital’s full suite of products and services
  • Originate and close a pipeline of opportunities with a primary initial focus on independent RIAs and Family Offices while building meaningful long term relationships
  • Create a systematic strategy for the Anchorage Wealth sales vertical, leveraging all of the internal resources available, from marketing, to business operations and client experience
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and intellectual curiosity. Ability to think creatively and help design solutions to client specific challenges
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Anchorage Digital, participating in industry events, building a network of clients and industry peers
  • Partner closely with Product and Platform teams to share client feedback and inform product roadmap
  • Collaborate across all departments, from legal to product, client experience, compliance etc. to effectively close deals and provide the best experience to our clients

Anchorage is a crypto-native digital asset platform offering a raft of solutions that help companies leverage blockchain technologies. Their advanced security architecture facilitates streamlined access to the complex and fragmented digital asset space.

Financial backing for Anchorage has come from prestigious investors Visa and Andreessen Horowitz. Anchorage's broad offerings are set to be matched by plans to partner across a wide spread of neobanks, challenger & incumbent banks, and corporate treasurers. This would mean an impressive expansion of their already substantial domain of influence in a rapidly developing sector.

In early 2021, Anchorage secured a national trust charter from the OCC, making it the first-ever federally chartered digital asset bank. This is significant, as it provides a good barrier to entry for other companies looking to compete in this space, and gives legacy institutions the ability to offer digital asset access to their clients. Though it has raised considerable funding in the past, crypto instability and wider macroeconomic challenges forced Anchorage to cut 20% of its staff in March 2023. 2022 clampdowns on customer due dilligence internal controllers added to the pressure on Anchorage to streamline and refocus its efforts.
