Analytics Engineering Manager, PlayStation

• You will have a deep passion and skill for data analysis, efficient organisation of data, impactful presentation of data, visualisation and story telling
• Management: 3+ years experience managing, leading and building analytics teams
• Must have people and performance management experience
• Stakeholder Management: Skilled at Stakeholder Management - partnering with business and product teams to effectively understand, shape and deliver to their goals and outcomes
• Business Intelligence: 8+ years of experience in enterprise business intelligence design and development, including
• Expert Product and Technical experience delivering Data Products, Visualisations and analytics on Business Intelligence solutions (e.g. DOMO, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.)
• Expert at turning complex data into UX focused and intuitive visualisations
• Delivering Self-Service data and reporting solutions
• Building re-usable components and Data Assets
• Data Analysis: Experience in analysing and interpreting data from multiple source types and technologies, including Master Data, Transaction Data, Web & Journey Analytics, Event Streams
• Experience in several analytics techniques including trend analysis, propensity and attribution models for conversion and churn rates, segmentation, journey analytics
• Data Transformation: Knowledge of and proficiency in ETL/ELT Techniques and tools (e.g. Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, Informatica, Ab Initio etc.)
• Transformation and aggregation of raw data into modelled, re-usable dimensions, facts and metrics
• Data Modelling: Experience building scalable and re-usable Data Products with data warehousing systems for large enterprises using sophisticated data warehousing design and modelling techniques
• Must have experience and knowledge of data model documentation and dimensional modelling
• Data Platforms: Deep knowledge with at least one of the following database technologies and familiarity with the others: relational, columnar and NoSQL (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB etc.)
• Expert SQL
• Strong Python: for automation, data manipulation, shell scripting experience and creation of custom applications
• SDLC: Deep understanding of software engineering processes, system development life cycles including Agile and Rapid Prototyping methodologies
• Outstanding organisational, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written
• Must be self-motivated, responsive, professional and dedicated to customer success
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

• We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineering Manager to lead the new Partner Insights team - a team of 4-6 Analytics and Visualisation Engineers
• You will work closely with our engineering, business and product teams to interpret data and turn data from various sources into impactful and actionable insights
• The insights you and your team create will directly inform business decisions and actions that will make PlayStation the best place for Partners to create and publish games: from attracting and retaining the best Developers, Publishers and Content to optimising our Publishing and Development toolkits and providing great support
• You will be working closely with other global teams - including data engineering, analytics, AI/ML and Data Science teams - requiring travel from time to time
• Provide technical leadership to the team to guide architecture, design, UX and implementation
• Guide development of team members, help them be impactful and grow their careers - through coaching, mentoring as well as formal evaluations and development plans
• Foster an environment where team members are empowered and motivated to perform their best
• Lead by example. Know when to Delegate and Empower, know when to be hands-on
• Lead and join communities of practice to establish and adopt the highest standards
• Work closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure cohesive & re-usable end-to-end solutions - from data acquisition, transformation through to visualisation and reporting
• Provide feedback and guidance to the team throughout the delivery process
• Ensure customer involvement to ensure the best possible outcome
• Make Start/Stop/Continue/Pivot judgements during delivery
• Become an expert in the Platforms we use, Data we process and the Data Products we develop
• Be able to represent and talk knowledgably about what the team is working on, has delivered and be able to demonstrate when necessary
• Judge when a very formal SDLC is required and when a more dynamic prototyping process is warranted
• Work with Product and Business stakeholders and your team to understand, shape, assess and deliver to business requirements
• Build relationships with customers - understand what is working and what is not working and plan and take appropriate action. Build rapport and keep customers updated
• Participate in product roadmap development and identify key areas for innovation and improvement in our solutions and incorporate these into ongoing & future development initiatives
