Payroll Manager, Aurora Solar

• We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Manager who is passionate about the end-to-end ownership of payroll processes, tax, compliance and accounting and is excited about being a member of the accounting team at an organization making a meaningful difference in the world.
• The ideal candidate will have a prior history of owning all aspects of the payroll processes, including payroll accounting and compliance, in a dynamic fast-growth environment.
• The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, partner well cross-functionally, and have a flexible, can-do approach
• 7+ years of payroll management experience
• Proficient with multistate and global payroll processes
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Proficiency with Workday and ADP
• Experience maintaining regulatory compliance, process documentation, and payroll policies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively across functions and levels throughout the company
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with a big-picture strategic understanding
• Ability to manage ambiguity, and multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency
• Hands-on, “Roll-up the sleeves” approach to accomplishing all necessary tasks
• Experience in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

• The accounting team is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
• The accounting team consists of the corporate accounting team, technical accounting and financial reporting, revenue accounting, and accounts receivable teams.
• The team operates collaboratively, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
• This role is an individual contributor role under the corporate accounting team
• Full ownership of payroll processes and payroll accounting
• Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations and tax filing requirements
• Full ownership of the payroll accounting for all payroll and payroll-related accounts
• Accurate payroll processing of employee pay, deductions, taxes, and one-time payments (bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, etc)
• Serve as a main point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries, issues, and new initiatives
