Who you are
- Experience in analytics, insights, and audience development within a newsroom or media environment
- Understanding of the media industry, audience engagement, and user-centric metrics
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a bias to action
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into understandable and actionable insights for the newsroom and editorial leadership
- Proficiency with analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Looker, etc.) and experience with data visualization

What the job involves
- As a Senior Insights & Analytics Editor you will be a key player in shaping our content strategy
- You will be responsible for analyzing data to provide actionable insights to our editorial team, helping them understand our audience and what resonates with them
- You will work to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making with data-backed recommendations to enhance our content performance and drive reader engagement
- Reporting to the VP, Analytics & Insights, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the global newsroom
- Analyze content performance across platforms to uncover actionable insights that help inform editorial decision-making
- Develop and deliver regular reports and presentations for the newsroom, translating complex metrics into clear, strategic recommendations
- Refine dashboards, reports, and KPIs that serve editorial needs
- Act as a data-driven advisor to editorial teams, proactively identifying opportunities to increase traffic, retention, and user loyalty
- Contribute to the development and execution of newsroom-wide performance frameworks and editorial goals
- Stay current with media and analytics industry trends to ensure Business Insider’s insights capabilities remain best-in-class

Insider - that entered the market at roughly the same time as fellow digital news and media names Buzzfeed, Vice, and HuffPost - has steadily and solidly built itself into one of the most familiar digital platforms for business, current affairs, finance and tech news.
Insider was founded by well-known trader and entrepreneur Henry Blodge. The company was sold to German giant Axel Springer in 2015, which signalled an uptick in its performance. This undoubtedly helped it to weather the storm of the pandemic, which hit advertisers hard, and saw many platforms like Insider's lose out on their major revenue stream.
