Role
Who you are
- We’re open-minded to background (no degree required). So long as the core skills for the role can be demonstrated, we care about what you can do, not what you have done
- 5+ years of experience programming in a production environment.
- You’re comfortable using multiple programming languages and learning new things on the fly. We don't expect any Elixir experience. A mixture of front and back end experience is required, but we understand you may have more expertise in one or the other.
- You have a strong product mindset and bring that user-centricity to your engineering work.
What the job involves
- You'll join a growing engineering team based across the UK and France. You'll collaborate with product managers, product designers, and software engineers to translate ideas into impact as fast as possible
- Build features from start to finish, and deploy on a daily basis
- Own code across our stack, from backend services in Elixir (with GraphQL + Postgres) to front-end single-page apps in React/TypeScript
- Develop step-change experiences from scratch which immediately impact 2M+ candidates and 5000+ companies
- We expect you to be proactive and bring your ideas to life to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives and careers
- Hybrid working - We have a hybrid approach to working that we believe helps us deliver the best quality products to our candidates. We ask that you come to either our central London or Paris office around 1-2 days a week, but we're flexible around you working away for a month if you need to as well. If you're more comfortable in the office than at home, many of our team also do 4 days a week!

- Take home task and review with Staff Engineer (Stephane) and Software Engineer - 1 hour
- Interview with Engineering Director (Billy or Florian) and a senior member of Welcome to the Jungle team outside of the product organisation
