Staff Accountant, Ultra

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers
• Bachelor’s degree; accounting or finance a plus
• 3+ years of experience managing transactional accounting tasks in a public or privately held organization
• Experience with journal entries, monthly and year end close
• Must be proficient in Excel
• This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
• Ability to sit and stand for an extending period
• Ability to type
• Be able to lift 20lbs

Desirable

• Assists the Accounting Manager with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from department
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Supports accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
• Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
• Prepares documentation for external auditors
• Daily reconciliation of cash flows and verification of bank balances
• Performs monthly bank settlements
• Maintenance of Project Costing
• Performs all other duties as required, requested, or needed
