Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in building and maintaining central data models used cross functionally
- Very high autonomy and a strong sense of ownership
- Expert-level SQL, with the ability to design robust and scalable models
- Extensive BI/dash-boarding experience
- Strong ability to “tell the story” with data: framing, pedagogy, and business context
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Ability to adapt communication style and level of detail to different audiences (Finance, Product, senior leadership, and investors)
- You are adaptable in a fast-paced environment and do well with versatility
Desirable
- Have experience scaling data at an early stage start-up
- Experience with Python, Java, Go or other relevant languages
- Have experience modelling complex business KPIs such as revenue, retention, LTV, etc
- Have a strong product mindset and care about business impact
- Are fluent in French
What the job involves
- We are strengthening the data function by hiring an Analytics Engineer to own our data function end-to-end. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of data, eng/product and business functions in a fast-growing fintech and deliver insights at scale
- You'll architect and maintain the data models and pipelines that underpin the business, build self-serve dashboards for specific verticals, and act as a trusted data partner to stakeholders across the company
- This is a highly cross-functional role. You will report into the Head of Finance and partner closely with leadership and teams across Finance, Growth, Product, Engineering, Treasury and Operations to ensure that decision-making is grounded in reliable, well-structured, and accessible data
- Data modelling and data foundations:
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve our data models and structure
- Ensure data quality, reliability and availability by implementing best practices, including observability, alerting, and testing (for example, dbt tests)
- KPI definition and documentation:
- Formalize and document the most important business and financial KPIs in collaboration with leadership and our Finance and Growth teams
- Build alignment on definitions so metrics are consistent across the company
- Dashboards and decision support:
- Create and maintain clear, high-impact executive dashboards that support strategic decisions
- Produce reporting that is complete, accurate, flexible, and structured for different audiences
- Influence and best practices:
- Promote data best practices within the data team and across the company
- Drive impact through team collaboration, without relying on hierarchical management

In emerging markets, goods importers pay as much as 10% to settle their invoices - and wait weeks for the payment to arrive. Capi is setting out to combat this, with its international payments platform built specifically for importers in countries with rapid market growth.
Through the platform, users can pay suppliers in EUR, UDS or GBP at competitive rates and with settlement in just 24 hours. This represents a significant improvement over the current situation, which makes Capi stand out almost by default.
