Who you are

  • At least 7+ years of experience in Product Management in Fintech/Technology/Fast paced start-ups/Financial services environments, with at least 3 years in a managerial and leadership position driving high performing teams
  • Strong balance of both strategic planning, innovation and an active hands-on approach is a must
  • This will be a hands-on role that translates into deep involvement of execution
  • Must possess a can-do, entrepreneurial drive, solutions focused with a high level of energy. This is critical both culturally and based on the nature of the business growth plans
  • Strong organization skills, ability to work under pressure and deal with uncertainties, manage priorities
  • Ability to influence and build credibility at all levels, building collaborative relationships
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, global complex and geographically diverse company
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English
  • International exposure in a Product role, with responsibility across multiple regions
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a passion for new technologies
  • Possessing the ability to use information / data and various metrics to develop an informed and factual business case; including strong financial analytical capabilities that will be key to further develop informed product strategies, which ultimately will improve product performance

What the job involves

  • Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Head of Product is a key strategic driver of our high growth product team and a representative of our customers’ needs. You will work with skilled Product Leaders, engineers and a strong cross-functional team
  • This role is responsible to expand Thunes’ reach and deepening customer engagement through the delivery of new products. The Head of Product leads and oversees multiple product portfolios including ICP/ use cases, Data Product workstreams, Product Treasury, Pay Platform and AI
  • You will lead multiple teams, the development and the management of the product roadmap whilst driving innovative product strategies
  • This role demands that the individual can work effectively in a matrix environment and is adept at understanding various technologies and capabilities into the company products that are scalable as we continue to grow
  • Leads the global product development, business plan and the global product roadmap for the above-mentioned product portfolios; this role is expected to identify and develop product strategies that deliver tangible business results based on market investigation and analysis
  • Leads, manages and drives a team of high performing product managers
  • Works with the business to build the roadmap of customer product solutions to drive new business opportunities
  • Creates and drives product Go-To-Market strategies, supporting business plans, market and competitor analysis based on market opportunities, customer needs and competitive offerings
  • In collaboration with the business for both new products or enhancements you will work closely with our Product Owner experts on Product Design / Technology Solutions, development, tests and release by coordinating the implementation team activities to deliver business products into the market
  • Works with Business Development & Technology teams to optimize solution development to create a balance between product customization and scalability
  • Partnering up in a cross-functional way to align and execute product enhancements or execute product strategies
  • Advises, influences, and engages widely with colleagues and peers across Thunes; improve processes and tools to make the global product deployment a success; across all areas of the business marketing, legal, compliance and technology teams
  • Works with Product Marketing / Marketing for the development and up keeping of appropriate collateral including user guides, presentations, Marketing content and demonstrations
  • Tasked with the identification of issues in the strategies developed, resolve these which potentially challenge the ability to meet product solutions financial, strategic, or technical goals

Thunes allows businesses to process payments anywhere in the world, improving their revenue. The company has managed to differentiate itself from traditional payment platforms thanks to their flexibility, transparency and low cost. They have also avoided competing with payment giants such as PayPal, who they now number as a customer. Other clients include Uber, Deliveroo and Grab.

In 2023 Thunes opened offices in Beijing after entering the Chinese market in 2021. This coincides with $60 million in Series C funding that is going towards the expansion of Thunes into new markets via cross-border payments which, alongside China, include Latin America and the Middle East. This indicates a strengthened global reach for Thunes.
