Who you are

- You have at least 3 years of experience in operations, office management, executive support or administration — ideally in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment
- You’re naturally organized, proactive, and meticulous — you like keeping things tidy and running on time
- You are energized by business operations, solving problems, and staying one step ahead of what the team needs
- You take initiative and find satisfaction in seeing tasks through from start to finish, whether that’s reviewing a contract, organizing a spreadsheet, or updating internal dashboards
- You’re highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple workflows across tools and teams without missing a beat
- You’re comfortable in spreadsheets and familiar with tools like Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides; experience with systems like Hubspot, contract software, or payment and expense platforms (e.g., Ramp, Stripe) is a plus
- You’re a team player who is happy to roll up your sleeves and support wherever needed, whether that’s tidying up data or coordinating a meeting
What the job involves
- As a Business Operations and Admin at Pulley, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of our NYC office and a trusted partner to our team
- You’ll ensure that our workspace runs smoothly, our internal processes are organized and efficient, and our leadership team is supported with high-quality execution
- You’ll play a key role in helping our leadership team maintain visibility into business performance by supporting finance operations — including invoice processing, internal reporting, expense tracking, and maintaining up-to-date records
- You'll also manage the daily operations of our office, support company-wide logistics, and own key administrative workflows
- Your work will touch nearly every corner of the company and directly impact how efficiently and confidently we operate, and your attention to detail and operational discipline will directly impact our ability to serve customers, close deals, and grow efficiently
- Keep our NYC office running smoothly — manage supplies, vendors, equipment, and space logistics
- Own and maintain internal workflows — including contract tracking, invoice management, CRM hygiene, and reporting
- Work in our NYC office 5x/week and become a steady, trusted, high-energy presence in a growing team!
Our take
Getting a permit to develop a property can be a painfully long process, regardless of whether it is a small extension or a completely new build. Archaic communication workflows make the process unnecessarily slow, and a lack of a transparent permitting system often leaves developers in the dark regarding the permitting progress for months.
Pulley provides construction permitting software for property developers and homeowners, allowing them to plan, apply for a permit, submit it to city reviewers, and track progress within the same platform. The platform allows users to search an address to understand the exact permits required, with every project member having access to a progress timeline to maintain transparency and solidify deadlines.
Whilst the company will face challenges due to the conservative nature of paperwork-based construction permits, Pulley shows great potential to overcome them by focussing on making the job easier for everyone. Through this approach, the company aims to reduce permitting time, make jobs more efficient for city reviewers, and provide new opportunities for permit providers.
