Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer and at least 2+ years of experience in developing automation for mobile platforms
- Proficiency in Swift programming language, with hands-on experience in UI testing frameworks such as XCUITest and XCTest
- Experience with in-app purchases integration testing
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools
- Strong technical skills and being pro at identifying issues and solving complex problems
- Good understanding of the software development life-cycle process
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes
- Proactiveness and high motivation
What the job involves
- The Proton Account team owns capabilities throughout the lifecycle of our customer journeys, from the critical acquisition and signup step to account management while utilizing our services, to effective promotions and checkout flows
- The Payments team covers everything from the UI the moment the user decides to purchase to the back-end services integrating with our payment service providers for completing transactions
- Ecosystem provides a unified experience for the user lifecycle in Proton: signup, payments, login, organization management, and more, are all building blocks that Ecosystem maintains and that are integrated into every Proton Product
- Develop and execute functional and non-functional automated tests for new features and products (Native Mobile applications)
- Take an active part in: influencing design, UX, product & technical requirements using your QA background
- Take part in cross-company projects
- Collaborate with app developers to analyse various complex challenges related to the iOS/macOS or Android native applications
- Analyze user flows and issues and use it as a base for your self-composed test plans
- Keep engagement up with a high-speed development process and ongoing deliveries, executing and adjusting your testing activities accordingly
- Establish team vision toward quality and use your sharp eyes together with technical knowledge to ensure Proton users enjoy a flawless mobile experience

Proton is a Geneva-based startup founded by former CERN worker and internet privacy advocate Andy Yen. It provides internet users with encrypted webmail, calendar, drive, and VPN services.
Proton maintains its pro-privacy ethos using a Swiss VPN, protected by strict Swiss privacy laws. In essence, it has established a connection between the personal and the political, smartly utilising the country’s national laws to benefit people and organisations globally. Proton also funds charities and movements such as the World Wide Web Foundation and Netblocks, further cementing it as an influential NGO.
Perhaps Proton’s most important quality is its determination to maintain independence from advertisers and companies. Originally founded on donations, Proton has funded itself via grants rather than venture capital so that all of its customer's data is never at risk of being mined. One effect of this is that to keep up with the increasing competition in the data privacy sector, Proton has expanded its services to allow more cross-selling and simultaneously has more products to offer, such as drive and calendar privacy.
