Who you are
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or a related field (or progression towards qualification)
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in an Assistant Financial Accountant or equivalent role
- Previous intercompany transaction experience
- Previous multi-currency experience
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables)
- Experience with Netsuite or an equivalent ERP system
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- A preference for a high intensity, high energy work environment
What the job involves
- Ocuco is looking for a skilled Assistant Financial Accountant to join our vibrant Finance Department at our Dublin headquarters for a duration of 12 months
- This position, reporting to the Finance Manager, presents a unique chance for collaboration across various functions and offers exposure to a fast-changing industry by assisting the Opticommerce (ecommerce and digital marketing solutions) division
- Monitor bank balances and cash requirement needs
- Reconcile bank accounts in Netsuite
- Assist in the preparation of reports for group cashflow
- Review all supplier invoices in Netsuite, while ensuring that all invoices are accurately accounted for and appropriately approved
- Verify and reconcile supplier accounts in Netsuite to supplier statements
- Prepare supplier payment runs
- Manage monthly cash employee expenses and company credit cards
- Preparation and review of monthly revenue recognition entries
- Perform timely month-end close within agreed deadlines
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and liaise with the Finance Manager to resolve any queries
- Assist the finance manager with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs
- Handling customer queries
- Preparation of UK VAT returns
- Assist the Ocuco finance team with identifying opportunities for automation and improvement
